Personal Ships on OED

Hello, everyone!

As you have likely noticed, the MOTD has been undergoing several updates. Our goal is to turn it into a useful feed of information about OED without making it horribly overwhelming. OED has many moving parts, and we feel those elements need to be more visible to newcomers while remaining useful to long-term players.

With that goal in mind, we are expanding the personal ship registry.

Rosters are an important part of roleplaying here in the STF. On OED, that is further complicated by the fact that we have a city, space platforms, colonial defenses, and Starfleet vessels all attempting to roleplay through the OED V STF ship.

At the bottom of the roster, you will now find a section for ships. You can click on a ship to expand its entry and see what it is, who commands it, and who serves aboard it.

This section is open to anyone who has a starship associated with the OED colony. You may also crew your ship with members of the OED V player base. Anyone participating in sims aboard the ship must be listed on the OED roster.

Ships may also be operated by a single player. Consider this section a registry of vessels associated with OED V rather than a requirement to maintain a full player crew.

Note: The Cavalier is a Transwarp Starship and personal craft of Lucas Holloway. Cared for by a small station-keeping and maintenance crew, the Cavalier has a standard crew complement of 12; the vessel is equipped with an industry-leading “Single-Officer Mode” that allows the ship’s Captain of Record (Gavin Cooper) to operate the entire ship from a single Bridge station. With a formal registry passenger capacity of 24, the ship has three decks. Deck 1 is home to the Bridge, the Captain’s one-bedroom Suite, the Captain’s office, and a small briefing room for the Senior Staff. The ship’s passenger spaces are all on one deck (Deck 2) and stretch the length of the vessel. The ship has eleven cabins. The forward Owners Suite, a luxurious 1,800 square foot two-bedroom cabin, features a cobalt blue Steinway Baby Grand piano (a gift from Blue Note owner and frequent guest, Nickolas Murphy), a private study, and an 8-person hot tub. Flanking the main hall are four one-bedroom Explorer Suites, two to each side of the ship, and all with King beds, private wet-bars, and whirlpool tubs. And lastly, six Veranda Guest Cabins; traditional-sized cruiser cabins with Queen beds and private baths. Next to the guest cabins are a holosuite (Port) and a gym (Starboard). There is a large lounge, the width of the entire ship, with dining areas, viewing galleries, a large bar, and a 15,000-book library. At just shy of 2/3’s the width of the vessel, on the Starboard side, is a conference center with seating for up to 45 people. Across the corridor to Port is the Passenger Galley, where all passenger meals are prepared in a 1,500 square foot, state-of-the-art galley kitchen. The aft of the vessel has docking stations for two runabouts, who’s three man crew traditionally quarters aboard their craft… when trips require them. Deck 3 is Crew-restricted space with quarters for up to 28 crew & Senior Officers plus an evacuation capacity of an additional 62 people.

It is, most importantly, a Federation Registered Privateer and fully-armed Corvette Class fast attack vessel. In combination with its cloaking capability and sensor suite, the Cavalier is one of, if not the most, advanced starship in private hands in the Federation.

Note: Much like the HSS Cavalier, the Sleipnir is a Transwarp ship. Think about it as the “Lamborghini of ships”, though it is mainly used by Molly to get from point A to point B… very fast. It is not for sale, it is not for rent, and please don’t scratch the paint (it’s a very expensive paint job…). :P

I just want to take the time to note the name of this ship. The Foxhole.

So my in-laws live in a very small town. So small that you will have driven through it in roughly 30 seconds. Maybe village is more like it? It’s most well known place (aside from the new restaurant) is a strip club called the Foxhole. It literally looks like it was built inside of a trailer home. Hope this ship is better equipped than the small trailer one. lol

All of the above have been added to the MOTD. In some cases I had to adjust the mission information to fit. If you would like it reworded or anything corrected/changed please let me know.
