Physical

Runa is average in height with the coppery blonde hair typical of her Nordic heritage. She often wears it in single fishtail braids or loose. Unlike her sister she doesn’t use beads in her hair. She is built and fit because she enjoys sports and being active.

Personality

Runa has taken a position on Atlantis as a civilian teacher. She has taken the position at the request of her sister, Revna. Runa is a mothering figure, is soft spoken and kind. Unlike her sister, she has no temper to speak of and it is one of the reasons she is so good with children. Revna is her twin sister.

Runa is extremely compassionate. She has lots of natural maternal instinct. This also means that despite being compassionate and non judgemental she can be a ‘mama bear’ if the situation requires it. She believes in honoring the trust that friendship implies and that friends are family. Runa is the least judgmental person you can ever meet, other than her sister. She is slow to offend and anger as she always gives the person the benefit of the doubt. Children love her because she always can see from their point of view and is patient enough to explain things to them.

Runa loves having a good time. She is a flirt but not a tease. To date she’s not ever lost a bet or declined a dare (as far as anyone else knows). She is the center of the party, often starting one out of nothing. She has a rich and playful singing voice and finds freedom in the music.

Personal Information

Runa was born along the North Sea on Earth. Her family honors the traditional customs of her Nordic heritage. She was always compassionate and was always watching out for the children around her.

Runa became a teacher because she loves children. Runa has taken civilian teaching jobs in several different places, but has never had a desire to join Star Fleet.

When she was younger Runa apprenticed with the clan Gothia, or shaman. Runa loves the old stories and believes strongly in the ancient faith of her ancestors.

Interests:

Runa loves nature. Being in it, growing it, looking at pictures of it. Before traveling to different locations as a teacher she spent all her time she could, outside. She loves the sea and goes sailing as often as she can. Runa loves music. She loves to sing and can often be heard singing all day long. She can also play the bagpipes. She competed professionally in dressage, hunter/jumper, polo and cross country equestrian events and American Rodeo as a child and throughout college and after. Until she took a job off-world. Runa also is an experienced falconer. Her favorite bird to work with being a Merlin Falcon. She also likes to write holoprograms.

Medical:

Runa was an active child and had several injuries from that time. After becoming an adult Runa has been very healthy.

Professional History:

She attended college to earn her degree in education and then returned home to teach. Several years later she was asked to teach on a starbase that had a sudden influx of families and they needed a teacher. Runa fell in love with teaching children from all over the quadrant and decided to stay with Star Fleet as a civilian educator on Starbase 32. She joined the Atlantis to help the huge ship manage the small people running amok. And to support her twin sister who suddenly found herself needing the transfer and change of pace. She temporarily took over Mike’s Place on Atlantis so that Mike, her soon to be brother-in-law could go after her sister and make her see sense. After Revna and Mike married and Revna took a new job as a diplomat to the Delta Quadrant, Runa returned home to Earth and Bømlo and family. She currently finds herself at an impasse in her life.
