Identifying marks/features:
Ilena has pale skin and the black eyes of her species. Her hair is auburn but shows red in direct light and full of large curls. She is slightly built but not really athletic though she could be. She spent too much time in her books. At the same time her pale skin tone has a healthy glow from sitting outside studying a lot. Ilena does cardio to set an example for her patients of good exercise habits but nothing else. This lends to her having a trim physique that is enough to pass her routine PT tests.

Personality

Ilena is actually very extroverted and outgoing. She loves life and people. She becomes very focused on her work and is easily startled because she becomes so concentrated on her task. She’s fiercely compassionate. Ilena, since childhood, has an incredible ability to block out most of the telepathic noise around her. So when she is on her own she is easily startled when someone speaks to her verbally or mentally. Her two years in hiding from the Dominion have left her almost skittish acting. Now she is quiet and reserved. She’s often haunted by the things she’s seen. She’s undergone counseling and is in a healthier place. Ilena was genetically bonded (Betazoid arranged marriage) when she was a child. During the war she lost touch with him and afterwards was unable to discover where he was. She fears that he’s been lost to the war. On recommendation of her counselor Ilena was encouraged to get a dog as a companion for as she was struggling in therapy to overcome the horrors of the occupation. Ilena still has Ril. On top of being an emotional support for her, Ril also acts as a medical alert dog for her myasthenia. Ril is a Husky.

Personal Information

Ilena was always compassionate, thoughtful and caring. She enjoyed helping people, but was never able to decide on ‘what she wanted to do when she grew up.’ During the Dominion Occupation she discovered she had a knack for medical aid and nursing as she helped the doctor that was hidden with the rest of her town. After the war, much of Betazed was destroyed and the population decimated. But they were a strong people and began to quickly rebuild. Ilena chose to enter Star Fleet to be a doctor to help others whose home didn’t have the resources Betazed did.
