“Well I think the starbase is our best bet its only a few days from here, ” he noted. “And taken turns is a good idea” he noted not meaning to be dismissive

Colonel Jackson Quade
Captain U.S.S Wolverine

Kay agreed, “Alright, setting course. We’ll have to be careful and pay attention to sensors. We don’t want to be caught out alone, but we don’t want to travel with pirates.” Kay was more relaxed here. Flying she knew and she knew how to hide maneuver and mask. Even if the shuttle was slow.

Kay, marine pilot

He reduced power signature as much as he could “Stay out of hte main lanes, and we should be ok, the power signature for this old girl is small enough” He said turning to the old couple. “You all get some rest” he said

Colonel Jackson Quade
Captain U.S.S Wolverine

Kay nodded. The older couple moved gear around and folded down the bed. “Wake me if you run in to anyone. I have enough rep as a Engineer to explain taking a job. It might help.”

He helped his wife to lay down and get comfortable. Then they fell asleep. Kay was quiet whole they flew. She wanted to push the shuttle hard but knew that would leave them stranded.

Kay, marine pilot

Tealor did not say much either, there was not much he could do really, he was fairly imbole still. He lets his head rest back and closed his eyes.”Im going to sleep a bit too” he said

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Kay looked over at him. “That chair won’t be co.fortable, but I could put the bench cushions down and you could get some real rest. Do you need anything? Water, meds? Pillow, blanket?” Kay was a kind woman, and she and atealor were in this together. She would do what she could for him.

Kay, marine pilot

“Thanks Kay. You are very kind. ” he said.”trueth is im not really comfortable anywhere.” He said, the ghost limb pain, the itchy stubs, im in pain all day all night. I would take the meds but ” he trailed off.

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Kay set up a makeshift bed for him and helped him lay down. “I’m sorry I can’t do more. If I can, you tell me. Maybe a low dose of meds to take the edge off?” Kay squeezed his shoulder. “I will get us there, I promise. I won’t give up.”

Tealor, his companion spoke, would you like me to try and block the discomfort so you can sleep? I do not know if it will work, but I can try.

Lt. Cmdr Rox, CMO/CNS

“Thanks Kay,” he said ” it means a lot,” he then took the spot she made hobling his way to it, * if you can without harming yourself he thought to his friend. Dradvia I’m comming home* he thought.

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Kay squeezed his shoulder before returning to the pilot’s seat. Yes, I can do it I think. Please let me know if it feels wrong. I do not wish to hurt you. It took a few tries. Sometimes Tealor’s limbs would twitch as nerves were stimulated rather than numbed, but eventually a blissful numbing sensation eased his pain.

Tealor, he began, You should know, while you were unconscious, I heard the thoughts of some of the doctors on that ship. Dradvia… she is not okay. She was catatonic.

Kay, marine pilot

Wait we have to go back, is she still there? he thought, the pain was dulled but he needed to get Dradvia to safty. He did not know what to do anymore. she needs us to go get her

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

No, she is no longer there. She was sent away by Valeria. With an older human man and a young Orion female. The man was apparently quite aggressive over how she was treated. Spit at Lokhar. About a day before we arrived. I didn’t get more information than that. Perhaps Kay knows?

Lt. Cmdr Rox, CMO/CNS

Tealor smiled internally at the thought of someone spitting on Lohkar, he also felt some relief that they had let her go, and that the man seemed to care for her at least in a decency way. “Kay, do you know what happened to Dradvia? she was Catatonic. I think”

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Kay sighed and her antenea dropped with grief. “I… I have an idea, but I wasn’t with her when it happened.” Kay explained what her theory was. “I was with Valeria when she got the notification that Dradvia had been brought to the medical bay and was… critical. She knew we were close and had me go with her. Dradvia never woke up. She never spoke to me. Valeria sent her away with a man and a woman. She told me she secured her freedom and sent her away. I hope it’s true. Though I’m not sure she’ll survive.”

Lt. Cmdr Rox, CMO/CNS

“I have to get to her Kay, I promised I would keep her safe, and now look at what’s happend, Look at me” he broked down and started crying. He was worthless, he could not save her, he could not even save himself.

Colonel Jackson Quade
Captain U.S.S Wolverine

She moved immediately to his side. “Tealor, what you did was very brave. You came after her, and endured horrible things to help her. It’s not the monster you need to save her from, it’s the memory of him. You had no idea what they would do. I had heard it before, I trained with the Andorian military before joining the Marines. Nothing I had ever seen or trained prepared me for …” she closed her eyes, her antennae twitching with anxiety. “You are alive. We aren’t far behind her. We’ll find her. I promise.” She swallowed the momentary hesitation and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. “You are not worthless. You are injured and need care, but you are not worthless.”

Kay, marine pilot

Tealor put a hand on hers, “I’m sorry Kay the thinkgs you endure, I” he just shook his head. “We’ll finder and get this all behind us.” he said, his internal thoughts not really linnging up with his external words.

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Kay shrugged, “I’ll survive.” Her eyes turned hard, but Tealor couldn’t see them. Though he felt it inside her. The almost compulsive obsessive need to find Dradvia. “We’ll find her and we’ll all heal. Try to get some sleep.” She wasn’t willing to be away from the controls too long. The shuttle mostly piloted itself, but Kay didn’t want to be caught unawares.

Lt. Cmdr Rox, CMO/CNS

Tealor woke in a cold sweat a fever had taken hold of him, “Kay, somethings wrong, I’m freezing” he said shifting up in the cot.

Colonel Jackson Quade
Captain U.S.S Wolverine

Kay turned and looked at him. She got up, grabbing the medical kit. She knew basic first aid and a little more. Required for all marines. But she wasn’t a doctor. She flipped open the tricorder. “You have a fever.” It wasn’t the wounds was it? She quickly turned the scanner on his arm and leg, praying there wasn’t an infection.

Kay, Marine Pilot

Talor shivered in his skin, both limbs were infected, not bad yet but infected, the butcher job that had been done to him was not clean work.

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

zztann,” Kay muttered “You have an infection.” She opened the kit and looked rummaged around in it. She started reading off labels. “Genericillin
(A powerful general purpose antibiotic), Metorapan (A formidable pain reliever used to treat more severe injuries. It is very similar to bicaridine, though without the risk of addiction. However it can cause fatal allergic reactions in around 1% of cases), Melorazine (A standard sedative that at lower doses can be used to calm a patient, or cause unconsciosness. Standard dosage for unconsciousness is twenty ccs), and Metrazine (A drug that can be used to stabilise the cardiovascular system in the event of shock or disruption in normal cardiac functions.) Will any of those help?” Kay was not a doctor or a medic. She knew basic first aid. And this wasn’t a standard Star Fleet shuttle. She couldn’t ask the computer.

Kay, marine pilot

He shook his head.” The Genericillin will slow it down” he weazed. “But my limbs need to be fixed properly or it’s bound to get worse” he noted. “We have to get somewhere that can get us to a proper medical station. ” he noted a shiver rocking his body to the point of cracking his spine like popcorn

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Kay injected him with the medication. Better than nothing. Then she woke the old man up. Together they found a place that they could get to faster with a medical facility. It may not be enough, but it was something. Kay set the shuttle to maximum warp and the older man got into the small Jeffries tube and tried to eek out as much extra power as he could.

Kay. Marine pilot

By the time they got to the facility Tealor was gone, no wear to be found, both limbs needed to be cleaned daily sometimes twice to keep the infection at bay. He thrashed, clalled over and over for Dradvia, and sometime for Elara. The one good thing was the parasite was keep his brain clear of infection.

Colonel Jackson Quade
Captain U.S.S Wolverine

The facility was on a neutral outpost. The doctors there could fight the infection, but they couldn’t do much to repair the damage. Tealor’s doctor put in a call to Star Fleet. The facility didn’t have a doctor trained in what Tessan needed, but they fought the infection.

The parasite fought off the sickness and protected his mind. Kay sat with him, holding his hand and telling him stories in his fevers.

Lt. Cmdr Rox, CMO/CNS

It took a week, but a long range patrol vessel was in the area tealor was talking again but not really about much other than finding Dradvia, they had been told that she had been sent home but he was looking for confirmation. “Any news?” He asked kay as they were wisked off toward black fleet a good two weeks away at cruise for the small combat vessle.

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Kay shook her head, “No. I keep getting told they won’t give out information on an ongoing investigation. But I’m not Star Fleet, Tealor., I’m a marine. Now, that you are better, you should try reaching out.”

The two weeks turned into two months as transfer delays and emergency redirects piled up and took them out of their way and along different paths. Finally Kay and Tealor arrived on Oed. They were moved directly to Sacred Heart Hospital for medical and mental evaluation. Kay refused to leave Tealor and refused to be seen until she knew he would be okay.
