Back Story

Bjarke Viktorsson was born into a family that still held the traditions of the Norse gods sacred. His childhood was filled with sagas of Odin’s wisdom, Thor’s strength, and Freyja’s grace. The clan saw itself as both guardian of tradition and participant in the wider Federation.

From an early age, Bjarke towered over his peers. His athletic prowess and commanding presence earned him respect, but his heart was always drawn to diplomacy—he sought to bridge cultures, not just conquer them. This balance of warrior and diplomat defined his Starfleet career.

Though he excelled in tactical studies, he deliberately chose the diplomatic tract, believing that to be the truest modern expression of Viking exploration and leadership. His assignments on the USS Ægir and USS Tethys exposed him to cultures across the galaxy. He became known for reciting old Earth sagas during tense negotiations, using them to build rapport and demonstrate the Federation’s cultural depth.

Bjarke’s transfer to the USS Manhattan as Diplomatic Attaché is both a professional honor and a spiritual calling. To him, the Delta Quadrant represents a new “Vinland”—an untamed frontier where the Federation can bring wisdom, exploration, and peace.

Though his bearing is fearsome, those who know him understand he is a man of honor, oaths, and loyalty above all else.
