Sorry, I should have posted this at the weekend but I’ve been busy in RL.Marthese has left the Merrimack immediately forthwith and asked me to removed every character. During her very long spell as CMO on the Merrimack she did help me to keep the ship afloat during some periods when we were without GMs or/and XOs and I’m certain the ship wouldn’t still be around today without her help. So, I do give enormous thanks to her for that.
This leaves us without a CMO, nor any other medical personnel bar the Dentist. So, if anyone wants to play a junior Doctor or a Nurse as a second character (no sweat - 365 day post limit) then please let me know.
Dave
PS: Edited title in case anyone thought I was leaving!
Dave, I have played many medical characters in my years here, I would be happy to step in until we have someone else. Let me know and I can give you a character profile.
Lieutenant Elyss Zavey
Chief Science Officer USS MerrimackYes please if you have time. Just make a junior doctor character and I’ll add it. Let me know the character’s number.

Lieutenant Elyss Zavey
Chief Science Officer USS MerrimackHe wasn’t born yet. But just make a similar but new character who was his grandfather and that will work fine.

Her bio has no years posted. I took out the one I accidentally put in. Now you can use her.
Lieutenant Elyss Zavey
Chief Science Officer USS Merrimack
You have removed the dates in her bio, but she already served aboard the USS Saracen “set in the prime timeline, in the year 2399”. Sorry, but we have never allowed characters already used on future ships to serve. Instead, people always create ancestors who are very alike in every way. It isn’t anything personal, but I am being very pedantic here. Understand that I have to operate under strict rules pertaining to the Merrimack’s Charter to keep her “established… as a 23rd century ship, with all the anthropological and technological idiosyncrasies of the era” and I feel it’s my duty to do be pedantic to do so.
On the other hand, I might accept a time traveller (if you can provide a good enough back-story for why). Time travel is established to be possible. The Merrimack itself has time travelled both backwards and forwards. A previous officer had a baby born to a father from the future. The Merrimack already has a secret section of MAJEl 2.0 computer library that was provided to it when it time travelled, only accessible by the Captain.
I haven’t seen such a thing played before and that might make her an interesting character? It would require you to be extremely careful, but you could accidently drop details about well established future events, be familiar with new species, or call things by the wrong names. As a medic you’d complain a lot about being in the “middle ages”. We’d need to run it by Kyrs and Jack for an okay regarding the Merrimack Charter.
Otherwise, just create a new character not used before. It can even have the same name (just add “Senior”) and an almost identical bio. That was not the problem.
