The deck shuddered again as Sickbay doors parted under emergency override.

They did not arrive all at once.

First came a science technician, half-carried between two security officers. Blood ran freely from a gash along his temple, matting his hair and streaking down the side of his neck.

“Hit the edge of a console when we took the roll,” he muttered thickly. “Black—blacked out for a second.”

Behind him, an operations ensign stumbled in under her own power, one arm clutched tight against her chest.

“Shoulder’s out,” she breathed through clenched teeth. “Deck pitched and I went down hard.”

A sharp, burned-metal scent preceded the next pair. An engineering crewman’s sleeve had been torn open, the fabric fused and blackened where a console discharge had arced outward. Angry red scoring marked his forearm.

“Power surge,” he said shortly. “Caught the feedback.”

Another followed more slowly, escorted on a stretcher. His body was rigid, fingers twitching intermittently as if still gripping an invisible tool.

“Panel kicked back,” someone explained. “Took the shock through both hands.”

From farther down the corridor came raised voices and hurried boots—more footsteps, more stretchers.

A helm officer limped in with blood soaking through her trouser leg where a bulkhead edge had split the skin above her knee. A junior science crewman held a cloth against his nose, already swelling and crooked. Two security officers supported one another, bruised and winded, having been thrown against opposite sides of a corridor.

The impact had been only half strength.

The Expanse had done the rest.

Sickbay filled with the sounds of labored breathing, pained hisses, and the low murmur of reassurance as the injured were guided toward open biobeds. Outside the sealed doors, the deck still carried a faint, uneasy vibration—reminder that the Merrimack remained in the climb.

And the fight was not over.

’’ Triage ‘’ shouted Cross , Kate and Dr Kim were quick to assess and evaluate each patient as they came through .Those with minor or non life threatening were put on one side of sickbay while the seriously injured started to be treated by the CMO and doctor Hunter.

Cross started on the engineering crewman’s whose sleeve had been torn open, the fabric fused and blackened. .taking his vital signs , giving him a potent painkiller , as she started to remove the cloth fused to his injury . Turning to the nearest nurse ‘’ Bring me ice ‘’ , the reason for it was so the burn would not go much deeper into the tissue.

Cross CMO.

The Engineering crewman moaned, despite the painkillers administered the pain still broke through. “Am I gonna lose my arm?” He moaned, eyes glassy.

OOC: If you rp more of the patients treatments I’ll post with you:) And please don’t cut my posts out of the thread when I’m playing as GM. That is rude:p

Hunter took the one who had been shocked ,his main priority was the heart as it could stop beating at any moment . The patient’s vital signs where erratic he could go to cardiac arrest at any moment , Hunter decided to put him in an induced coma and attached the cardiopulmonary machine ,it would relieve the stress from the heart .
The doctor stayed near his biobed , alert to any changes in his condition .

Hunter Dr.

The patients vitals settled as the crewman settled into the coma. Some work on his shocked nerves might to be done to fix the damage from so much plasma going through his system.

OOC: I don’t understand I would never cut what you write ,in fact I followed what you put down as the G.M.

OOC: Marthese, you sometimes don’t reply to the latest post, and that will cause it indirectly. The software has a warning come up if you try to do that, but Bob said that you told him to just ignore any of those warnings, so is that why? Usually, the warning will be correct.

BTW: I will sometimes [snip] very long threads of the previous recipients and of old story (just keeping that relevant to the current discussion) and also any OOC stuff such as this. Sorry, if on some occasions I have been a little too aggressive at doing that. On the other hand, others are not clipping the posts enough. The ‘Post Ghost’ then appears frequently and does it for you.

This might not be STF policy, but I like reading the thread through as a story and all the old signatures and OOC stuff spoils it. I also find it best, not to write as you would literature, but more specifically to always say ‘who says what’ and ‘to whom they say it’. It doesn’t matter then if signatures later get removed, and no one can be confused over speeches in quotes without any references.

While we are on this subject (and feel free to edit this out later) what is actual STF policy on speech quotes?
Here (and elsewhere) we have used:
“--------” for actual talking together (quotes).
------- for thoughts (asterisks) - that’s thoughts no one else can hear as well as telepathy.
But for Comms I see =/\= ------ =/\= (which I prefer) and also =^= ------- =^= and also [o] -------- [o]

OOC: what you wrote is besides the point ,the G.M said her post does not show ,its there .The sim was not split and I took the most injured crew she described .Being accused of something I did not do and then have the audacity to call it rude I have had more then enough…sorry Dave .

OOC: Kris edited her post. You replied only 8 minutes later and missed that edit. You could have easily been 8 minutes in writing a post. No one’s was at fault. No one was rude. Yes, what I just said was besides the point as editing posts is a whole different thing. Please accept that people do make mistakes. Everyone does.
