Pawl forced himself to be calm. “Thank you doctor.” Pawl said softly. as he layed back and closed his eyes. focusing on his odd thought at the moment. trying not to raise his panic. As he focused on his mental barriers trying to keep himself from doing anything rash. He thought of his family now and the lack of cohesion that were rifts from his mother started to replay in his mind. Decissions of him and his obligation to his house on betazed. Helping continuing the lines of lineage and help setting up for airs for the future of the house. Pawl full well known that the house was more than capiable of dealing with new airs and offspring. He did not need to force himself into prearranged marriages or get married or destined copulating just to make sure the airs were there and apparent. Pawl hated revisiting this in his mind. He rather done anything to relive more pain.

T’Sol nodded at Doctor Sovan. “Thank you, Doctor Sovan.” She said. “Doctor Najjar. I know it may not be logical for me to be here and I apologize. But once I get everything taken care of here. I’ll take my equipment and head out once I have finished.” She said logically.

Pawl forced the memory away as he settled in a more calming tone as he invisioned himself on the tropical resort world of pacifica swimming in the prestine waters of the crystal blue waters and lovely crystal white glittering beaches of the ocean world. Pawl was finally relaxing now. and in the real world he fell asleep deeply almost coma tose like state. Pawl did not realize that his mental barriers were gone now. As the monitors started to registering the change in his reading on the display. not yet sounding alarms but there was a notible change in his reading nolw populating the screens. moments later the alarm sounded from the equipment.

The atmosphere in Sickbay shifted almost immediately.

Lieutenant Batario’s monitors, which moments earlier had been filled with chaotic neural spikes and elevated cortical stress patterns, suddenly began to smooth out into long synchronized waves. The change was so abrupt it drew attention from multiple stations at once. Then the alarms activated.

A sharp repeating tone echoed across the medical bay as warning indicators flashed amber across the biobed display.

MEDICAL STATUS ALERT
NEURAL BARRIER ACTIVITY: COLLAPSED
PSIONIC RESONANCE LEVELS: RISING
PATIENT STATUS: UNRESPONSIVE

Batario himself appeared completely calm. Too calm.
His breathing had slowed into a deep, almost perfectly regulated rhythm while his body remained utterly motionless against the biobed. What should have resembled ordinary sleep instead looked disturbingly close to a coma state.

Nearby LCARS panels flickered briefly as faint bands of static rolled across the displays before stabilizing again. One monitor momentarily lost telemetry lock entirely before reconnecting on its own.

The readings only became stranger from there. His brainwave activity no longer matched any recognizable sleep cycle. Multiple layered harmonic frequencies had begun threading through the neural scans — precise, repeating patterns intertwined with his normal cortical activity as though another signal had synchronized with his mind.

Environmental sensors near the biobed registered a sudden increase in airborne moisture despite Sickbay’s climate controls remaining unchanged. Trace saline particulates appeared in the air around the bed itself.

For just a moment, several medical staff nearest to Batario thought they could hear something beneath the alarm tones. The distant sound of surf. Then it vanished.

The monitors continued their steady rhythmic pulse as the harmonic patterns across Batario’s scans deepened further.

Mykl stood at the side of Batario’s bed, observing the oddities. “Is that real moisture around him? How is it manifesting out of nothing?” Najjar programmed the bed to run constant, full scans. Something was going on and she needed to find the answer to it. Suddenly, she heard the sound of waves crashing on land, but it disappeared quickly. “The scans say Batario is nearing a coma when he shouldn’t be. Sovan, are you picking all this up? How is it panning out with your program?”

Sovan had been monitoring the evolving neural models from the primary medical workstation when the environmental anomaly manifested around Lieutenant Batario’s biobed. His eyes shifted briefly from the flowing simulations to the faint moisture now visible on the deck plating and the subtle condensation forming along the bed’s framework.

Without visible concern, he tapped several commands into the console, adding the new data streams to the predictive models already running.

“I am detecting the same phenomenon, Doctor,” he replied calmly. “Environmental sensors confirm the presence of atmospheric moisture. However, there is no identifiable source within Sickbay itself. The water appears to be condensing from the surrounding air at an accelerated rate.”

The Vulcan paused as another series of results appeared on his display.

“The auditory event was also recorded. Internal sensors registered a brief acoustic signature consistent with oceanic wave activity, though no corresponding environmental source was present.”

His fingers moved across the LCARS interface with practiced precision.

“The simulations are becoming increasingly complex. Lieutenant Batario’s neural patterns continue to synchronize with the anomalous resonance field at a rate significantly exceeding that of the rest of the crew. His brain activity is no longer simply responding to the phenomenon—it appears to be interacting with it.”

Sovan studied the latest probability projections.

“Several predictive models now suggest the approaching coma state is not the result of neurological failure. Rather, it may represent a transition into an alternative cognitive condition.”

He turned slightly toward Najjar.

“The difficulty is that the destination of that transition remains unknown.”

Another alert flashed across his console.

“Additionally, Doctor, the simulations indicate a growing correlation between Lieutenant Batario’s neural state and these localized environmental manifestations. If the trend continues, it is possible the phenomena are not occurring around him by coincidence.”

The Vulcan’s expression remained composed despite the implication.

“It may be that Lieutenant Batario is becoming the focal point through which the anomaly is expressing itself.”

Doctor Sovan

She pondered for a moment. “I have been monitoring everything on my the entity has been communicating with us not sure what but something.” She said.
