Pawl was going to answewr the captains question but stopped.Since the captain was still speakin and did not wantto interupt. As he heard the doctors question. I should be able to walk doctor. He gave a soft smile. pawl quickly saved his work on his terminal that he was noting. the went with the doctor without complaint.

As Pawl left the bridge, Will turned around to the rest of the bridge crew. “I need a full status report,” he said with a slight sigh of relief. Whilst he hadn’t yet seen the report, his instinct told him that whatever had happened was over, for now, and hadn’t done any lasting damage. “And then we’ll try to piece together what just happened.” He finished, before turning to each of the bridge crew for their reports.

“Security systems and the modulating shield set up, still running smoothly, but i recommendwe release some more buoys so we know where to go” he said preparing the system for the next wave of Buoys. John was happy that Lt. Batario was doing better and back into the now.

She looked at him wondering why. But he is the Chief Weapons Officer on board. “I would concur. However, from my initial scans shows that the entity that is in control or talking to Lieutenant Batario, has tried to give us something to work with. Sir, with all due respect, when I was doing my scans some sort of data or something came across my screen as it was trying to communicate.” She said. “However, logically, I think it’s best that we keep an eye on what really is going on. I’m not too sure if this is the way it communicates, but I recommend that if we were to transfer Mr. Batario, that the logical choice is not transporter but either help him walk or carry him to sickbay to continue further scans of this entity. Sir.” She added.

Beyond the viewscreen, the Rift had grown quiet. Not empty. Never empty.

But still in the way deep water could be still—calm on the surface while something vast moved beneath. The derelict vessel drifted silently ahead of the Chernov, its darkened hull now fully exposed after the departure of the entity from within it. Long-dead running lights remained extinguished. No engine signatures emerged. No communications. No signs of life. And yet the ship no longer felt abandoned. Because around it the Whispering Majesty moved slowly and gracefully.

Like a creature swimming through an ocean only it could perceive. Its immense tendrils curled through the void in luminous arcs, ribbons of emerald, gold, and violet folding around the derelict’s skeletal structure without ever truly touching it. Sometimes the being would pass through sections of the hull entirely, its glowing form phasing harmlessly through metal before re-emerging in spiraling coils of light.

The motion was unhurried, patient and deliberate. The entity circled the vessel not like a predator guarding territory but like something presenting an object of significance.
Or perhaps it was an invitation.

• SCIENCE: Entity maintaining stable orbit around derelict
• SENSORS: No hostile energy buildup detected
• OPS: Repeating movement pattern emerging

On tactical displays, the movement resolved into repeating loops and flowing curves that almost resembled choreography. Every circuit around the derelict followed the same elegant rhythm before subtly changing, as though the being was adjusting itself to the Chernov’s observation or responding to being watched.

The golden core at the center of the entity pulsed softly, casting shifting light across the broken hull of the derelict. In those pulses, portions of the vessel illuminated briefly through shattered viewports and fractured corridors as if the entity wanted the crew to see.
It was if it wanted them to notice what it was doing or to come closer.

Inside the bridge, sensors struggled to interpret what they were witnessing.

• SCIENCE: Harmonic modulation detected within entity movement
• ANALYSIS: Patterns consistent with prior communication attempts

It was not random motion but more structured. Intentional. The entity was communicating again not through direct contact this time, but through behavior, display and motion.

Then the creature slowed suddenly. Its luminous tendrils stretched outward, curling gently around the derelict like currents wrapping around a reef. The golden light dimmed slightly, softening into a warm, almost bioluminescent glow. And for a brief moment—the Rift itself seemed to breathe.

The surrounding distortions calmed. The violent fluctuations that had plagued the region eased into smooth, flowing currents of light and shadow.
The Whispering Majesty drifted backward slightly from the derelict. As if it was making space. Then it waited, not demanding, not threatening…simply expectant.

As though the entity had finished introducing itself—and was now waiting to see whether the crew of the Chernov would take the next step. Whether they would remain safely behind their hull and shields. Or come out into the water and play.

Your Darkest Nightmare

With all the data pouring in, Kastarak felt overwhelmed. It was rare that his emotions overtook him, but now it happened. Kastarak tried to keep his composure, unsure of how much others would notice. Hopefully, he would remain outwardly his stoic self. He simply could not purge the emotions, which were so intimately tied to Pawl’s health.

This was not conducive to command. He knew it. But what options did he have?

He decided to go to Sickbay to see Pawl. It was the best option among a range of many bad ones. He was a doctor, maybe he could help ensure Pawl would be as healthy as possible. The locus of control. That was wll that mattered.

He rose from his centre seat.

“Mr Archer!” he said, startling himself a little by the tone in his voice. “You have the bridge. I must go to Sickbay.”

Will, who was looking at the image on the viewscreen, looked toward the Captain. “Understood, Sir.” He said, before looking back at the screen.

“What do you know about that wreck?” He asked, to no-one in particular.

Cmdr William Archer
First Officer

T’Sol stood there at her station and looked at the commander. “Sir. From what I can tell from my initial scans of the wreckage, it’s a high chance that something or someone was there. Logically the wreck there is something I’m not so familiar with.” She said looking over at Commander Archer.

John runs a scan “ i’m not detecting any power and the vessel, but it is clearly moving. Maybe it’s moving with the currents. I don’t know.”
