OOC: I don’t know if we even need this thread, but put it up just in case he had a big reveal or something.

After leaving the bridge, Mykle arrived in sickbay with Pawl. The adrenaline from the action on the bridge still ran through her veins as she guided him to a bio bed. “We need to run full scans on all neural activity levels and brain functions. He engaged telepathically with an entity while we were on the bridge and his levels increased so much I was afraid he would have permenant damage. That’s what we’re looking for—anything that doesn’t align with his last set of scans. I want to know about any differences, no matter how small they are.”

Once she turned Pawl over to an orderly, Mykl headed over to the main system to see how things were running. From the corner of her eye, she could see Pic in her office, reading.

“I will do my best to accomidate you doctor.” Pawl said a bit tired. “Can I get a Padd? I want to get the report done and send all i leard to the captain and science officer. Along with all the notes he had on the engineering console station.” Pawl asked. I if would be ok. while she did her testing.” he finished. He relaxed as calmly as he could.

“Wait until we’ve run the scans. I want you to relax and close your eyes while we get the readings. After that, I’m sure we can find a PaDD for you to take notes on.” He needed a breather after the connection with the alien entity. It would only be a few minutes, but being someone who always wanted to record her findings, she understood his desire to get right to it.

“i understand doctor I will abide by your wishes in this matter. I am a bit tired. trying to stifle a yawn. “Hello there Dr sovan.” Pawl said softly.
Pawl was wondering. “Excuse me doctors do you think it was safe to fall asleep I dont want my defenses of the mind to faulter or completely go away?” Pawl asked with a bit of concern.

Dr. Sovan looked from the padd he had been perusing as the CMO and Pawl entered sickbay. He watched Najjir make Pawl comfortable first before making his way over to her side. “Doctor, I have been monitoring both Me. Batario and the ship in regard to this entity. I have found that even though he is no longer in contact with the entity there is still residual psionic resonance. It does appear though that both Mr. Batario and a lot of the crew are….adapting to this new psionic resonance.”

Mykl looked up from the monitor where the result of Batario’s scanned biology were being displayed. “When you say they are ‘adapting’, how is that being accomplished?” Was is happening naturally, biologically, or was the entity still driving the change?

Pawl lstened to doctors descuss the creature and the interactions of the crew. “its fairly common for some resonance to be left behind with such a overwhelming connection it will subside in time.” Pawl offered to the doctors.

“Yes, Pawl, we understand. We’re talking about a couple of different things.” With that said, Najjar gestured for Sovan to move farther away from their patient so their conversation was more private. “Are you feeling any active differences because of the entity out there? I’m not aware of any changes with me, but perhaps you see something I don’t?”

Sovan inclined his head slightly as Najjar moved with him a short distance away from Pawl’s biobed. The Vulcan kept his voice low, though his attention never fully left the readings still active on the padd in his hand.

“It is difficult to quantify precisely,” he admitted. “The adaptation does not appear entirely biological, nor entirely external.” He brought up several comparison graphs and turned the padd slightly so Najjar could view them. “Neural pathways affected by the resonance are no longer reacting as though exposed to a foreign intrusion. Activity is stabilizing instead of resisting.” He paused briefly.

“In several crew members, cortical stress levels have actually decreased since the entity disengaged from direct contact.” That fact clearly troubled him.

Sovan considered her question carefully before answering.

“As for myself…” His eyes lowered momentarily toward the padd. “I am aware of increased sensory clarity. Background emotional states among nearby personnel are marginally easier to distinguish than they should be.” His expression tightened faintly. “Subtle, but measurable.” He glanced briefly toward Pawl.

“Lieutenant Batario is correct that residual resonance following telepathic contact is not unusual. However, this degree of persistence across multiple individuals with no direct psionic ability is… atypical.”

Another series of readings rolled across the display. Sovan studied them for a moment longer before continuing.

“The concerning element is the apparent synchronization between affected crew members. Neural patterns are beginning to align at minor intervals, almost as though portions of the crew are still responding to a shared harmonic source despite the entity no longer maintaining direct contact.”

For the first time there was the faintest hesitation in his otherwise controlled tone.

“I cannot yet determine whether the adaptation is beneficial… or preparatory.”
