Before we set out on this next mission together, I want to take a moment OOC to acknowledge where we’ve been and where we are headed.

The Chernov has a long and proud tradition within this fleet—one built on creativity, resilience, and camaraderie. It’s not just a ship; it’s a community of storytellers who have invested themselves in this world and in one another, and that is something rare and worth celebrating.

I would especially like to commend and thank Travis Good, who has carried the torch as Captain Taggart for the last eight years. His leadership, his writing, and his dedication have been a cornerstone of what makes the Chernov what it is today. Travis, you will always have a place here—whether that’s continuing with us in another role, returning in the future, or simply dropping in when the moment feels right. The Chernov will always be your home.

To the crew: I want to assure each of you that I believe in you, both as writers and as people. I genuinely believe we have some of the best talent in the fleet, and I am proud to stand among you. My goal is to guide the Chernov in a way that honors its rich culture and to keep building on the incredible sense of family that already exists here.

I also want to make it clear that my “door” is always open. If you have an idea, a concern, or simply want to talk, I hope you’ll feel comfortable reaching out to me. Although I do write for several other ships, please know this: the Chernov is, and will remain, my top priority.
