Dear all,

I’ve now become your new commanding officer, as per the latest edict of the President.

When I applied, I had no idea that the competition would be so thick, and had I known that, I would likely not have applied. This is my first role as commanding officer. I embark on this role, I do it with a great deal of humility and with a big dose of fear. I have a big ask: help me out, please, give me feedback, suggest what I can do better. I want to be a good captain. I know that the Levi has had a tumultuous last year with various commanding officers. I want to be able to invest in the Levi. I want to be here for the long ride. But if I do mess up, let me know, let me know how bad it is too.

Some of you know me, most of you don’t. In real life, I’m Ric – living on the Swedish west coast (or the best coast, as we jokingly say). I’m part British, part Swedish, and lived in both countries. My English is full of Scandinavianisms mixed with Britishisms. So bear with me for strange spelling or metaphors at times. I work in health care, dividing my time between clinical work and research. Like Rom on DS9, I am also a union rep (lol). I live with my husband, and I do like a lot of tea (you’ll see that last part in my writing hehe).
