Jean Francois was raised on a winery in Bordeaux, France. His family is one of the prestigious Red Bordeaux makers in the world and he comes from a very, very wealthy family. He could have stayed on the winery but he wanted to do what he wanted for a time before he went back home and settle down. He joined Starfleet in the science department as an Counselor. From there he went on to become one on board a small cruiser which led him to managing. From there he went to his first big vessel.
