It had been weeks! Finally, Kay, no her name was Katzhenyra Val. Katzhenyra was able to bring the small shuttle into the OED system. As soon as she did she started sending a distress signal.

=/\=Cpt Katzhenyra Val, UFP Marine Corps to any ship or colony. Mayday! I have injured and critical on board. Over!=/\= She sent it on all secured and open channels trying to get a fast response. Tealor needed help, he was going to die of the infection and injuries.

The Solvency received the distress signal, seeing as it was coming into the Oed system.

“It would not be right for us to ignore the distress call, Peandel,” Kintsugi told her boss, “I have the training to tend to injuries, and you’ve provided the resources for me to do so. We’re closer than Oed V, I can provide emergency care, while the Federation decides whether or not the red tape can be cut.”

Peandel nodded to the Doctor. It was why she bought the woman a new face, and paid for her medical training, after all. Even with the bitterness of her treatment as an orphan on her homeworld on full display, Kintsugi would not allow anyone to suffer needlessly.

“Go,” Peandel said, from her central chair on the Solvency bridge, then without pausing, she said, “open a channel.”

Kintsugi nodded and headed off the bridge …

“Done,” Vayla replied, “also checking long range scanners to make sure they aren’t being followed.”

Peandel nodded to the Andorian, “good, remember, we run, we don’t fight.” The Solvency was designed for negotiation, for privacy, not for hostility. Its why she had paid extra for shields, for more speed.

^$^ Captain Katzhenyra Val, ^$^ Peandel replied, ^$^ This is Peandel, owner of the Solvency. My personal physician, Dr Kintsugi is beaming over to provide immediate aid to your sick and injured. ^$^

Meanwhile, Kintsugi reached the small transporter room, just off the Solvency’s Bridge. Krex was at the controls, waiting for the Bajoran/Cardassian hybrid to get on the transporter padd. Kintsugi did so, and had a medical tricorder and emergency supplies with her.

“Beam me over, Krex,” she instructed, her voice steady.

The Ferengi did so, and the Solvency’s transporter room was replaced by the shuttlecraft.

She looked around, “I’m Dr Kintsugi, and I’m here to help. The injured?”

Her face was a striking blend of Cardassian and Bajoran features, blending Bajoran nose ridges with a faint Cardassian spoon. It was as though her features were enhanced with skin grafts, rather than of either species. The skin where the severe burns used to be has a slightly different sheen; resembling the Japanese art of kintsugi; repairing broken things with gold.
