USS Merrimack
Main Sim: Mythic Fragment
The rift hung in the void like a wound in the universe, its edges frayed into strands of light that twisted and recoiled, as though some unseen hand were weaving and unweaving reality itself. The vastness of space bent around it, starlight drawn thin and distorted, pulled into a shimmer that offered no depth—only the suggestion of another realm pressing against this one.
From within, something stirred.
Not solid, not wholly formed, but vast enough to eclipse the stars behind it. Shimmering limbs arched like arcs of liquid glass, each curve dissolving back into the fabric of the rift before it could fully take shape. Radiant nodes flared and dimmed like eyes that were not eyes, a rhythm of awareness pulsing outward across the silence.
It did not move so much as it was breathed forth, carried on tides of unseen force. Each emergence lingered only for a moment, then dissolved again into the rift, as if the creature were inseparable from the anomaly itself—an echo of life caught between existence and something far beyond.
And though it left no words, no voice, the vast dark seemed to hold its presence. Watching. Waiting.
