Lieutenant Junior Grade Chéreau,

On behalf of the officers and crew of the USS Chernov, it is my pleasure to welcome you aboard.

You have been assigned to our Security Department, a position that carries considerable responsibility. The men and women of Security are among the first to respond when something goes wrong, whether that means protecting the ship, safeguarding our crew, maintaining order, or standing between danger and the people we have sworn to protect. It is demanding work, but it is also honorable work, and I expect every officer wearing that uniform to approach it with professionalism, discipline, and courage.

The Chernov is a ship with a proud Starfleet tradition, but a ship is only as strong as the people who serve aboard her. You are now one of those people. I expect you to learn from your fellow officers, contribute where you can, and never hesitate to do your duty when the situation demands it. In return, you will find that this crew stands behind its own.
