History

B:orn in the small city of Ottumwa, Iowa, She was the child of prominence and expectation. His father, Dr. Percy Blackford, was a widely respected physician whose name carried weight in both academic and medical circles. His mother, Julie Blackford, came from a well-to-do family with deep social ties and carefully maintained appearances. From the outside, the Blackfords were everything society admired—successful, stable, and untouchable.

Her brother Wyatt came out as Trans when he was in his teens and was kicked out the house which really effected her. She slipped it to her uncle what was happening and he adopted him. She was not inn
Areiana wasn’t innocent—far from it. Even as a child, she had an instinctive understanding of systems, the kind of mind that saw patterns where others saw noise. Computers, networks, security protocols…they all made sense to her in a way people never quite did. While other kids were playing games, she was pulling them apart, figuring out how they worked, and quietly teaching herself how to bend them.

Her parents tried to steer her in a better direction, but Areiana had already fallen in with a rough crowd—friends who lived on the edge of trouble and didn’t mind dragging her along with them. They saw her talent before anyone else did and encouraged it, pushing her to test limits. That’s where she picked up her most dangerous skill: hacking.

At first, it was harmless. Small things. Changing grades in the school system, disabling alarms just to prove she could, slipping past digital locks like they weren’t even there. It became a game to her—a challenge. And she was very, very good at it.

By the time she reached high school, her skills had grown far beyond childish mischief. She understood networks on a deeper level, knew how to cover her tracks, how to move unseen. That was when she stumbled onto something real—something wrong. A company had been knowingly selling faulty products to elderly customers, refusing refunds, and exploiting people who didn’t know how to fight back.

Areiana didn’t hesitate.

With the help of her friends, she broke into the company’s systems, gathered every piece of evidence she could find, and then did something bold—reckless, even. She broadcasted it. Not to a small group, not anonymously buried somewhere on the net, but to the entire city. Every screen that could receive a signal lit up with the truth. The company’s practices, their lies, everything.

For a moment, she felt unstoppable.

And then she made a mistake.

During her senior year, riding that same sense of invincibility, Areiana decided to test herself one more time. She set her sights higher than ever before—on Starfleet’s main database. Not for money, not for revenge…just to see if she could do it.

She could.

But this time, she wasn’t as invisible as she thought.

Starfleet caught her.

There was no dramatic chase, no last-second escape. Just a quiet, inevitable knock at the door. And then a choice: prison…or the Academy.

For most people, it wouldn’t have been much of a choice at all. But for Areiana, it became even simpler when she learned her brother would be attending the Academy as well. She had watched him struggle growing up, had seen what the world could do to people who were different and didn’t have the money to do as they wish.

For the first time, she wanted to use her abilities for something more than proving she could.

To everyone’s surprise—especially her brother’s—Areiana chose the medical track. It seemed completely at odds with who she had been: the quiet, antisocial hacker who preferred machines over people. But beneath all of that, she had always been intelligent, always capable of learning anything she put her mind to.

And she did.

She kept her head down, pushed herself harder than anyone expected, and excelled in every way. Medicine became just another system to understand—complex, intricate, but ultimately solvable.

Areiana graduated at the top of her class.

Not because she had to.

But because, for the first time in her life, she chose to.

Physical Appearance:

Personality/Psychological History:
Though Areiana was born into a well-off family, she never truly felt like she belonged in their world. Wealth, status, appearances—those things mattered to them in ways she could never understand. While her parents spent their time attending galas, hosting elegant parties, and maintaining their image among high society, Areiana was usually somewhere else entirely. If she was forced to attend, she lingered at the edges, uncomfortable and distant. More often than not, she slipped away the moment she could—choosing instead to spend time with her friends or volunteering at shelters, where things felt real.

She saw more honesty in those places than she ever did in her own home.

The breaking point came with her brother.

Her brother had always been the one person who truly understood her—the one constant in a life that often felt staged and artificial. But when he was labeled “different,” their family turned on him without hesitation. Cold. Calculated. As if he were something to be removed rather than protected.

Areiana didn’t agree with them. Not for a second.

But she didn’t stop them either.

That was the part that stayed with her.

She watched it happen. Said nothing. Did nothing. And when he was gone, the silence he left behind was louder than anything else. Later, he sent her a letter—simple, honest, telling her he didn’t blame her for what happened.

That only made it worse.

The guilt followed her for years, lingering in the back of her mind no matter how much she tried to bury it. It shaped her in ways she didn’t fully understand at the time, carving out a quiet determination to never stand by like that again.

As she grew older, that guilt turned into something else—something stronger.

Areiana became someone who didn’t care about status, background, or labels. It didn’t matter who you were, where you came from, or what others thought of you. If you needed help and she could give it, she would. No hesitation. No judgment. In a way, it was her way of making up for the moment she couldn’t change.

Trust, however, didn’t come back easily.

Her parents’ betrayal left a mark that didn’t fade with time. It took years—long, difficult years—for her to learn how to trust people again, and even now, it wasn’t something she gave freely. She believed in actions more than words, in consistency more than promises.

Despite that, she wasn’t cold.

Areiana could be friendly, even warm in her own way, especially to those who earned it. But there was always an edge to her—a no-nonsense attitude that made it clear she wouldn’t tolerate disrespect or dishonesty. She spoke her mind openly, sometimes too openly, and didn’t soften her words just to make others comfortable.

Even within Starfleet, that trait set her apart.

She respected the structure, the purpose—but not blindly. If she thought something was wrong, she said so, even if it went against protocol, even if it made her seem difficult or blunt. Some called it unprofessional. Others called it necessary.

Areiana didn’t care what they called it.

To her, respect was simple: you give it, you get it. And if someone failed to show it first, she had no problem meeting them with the same energy.

It wasn’t the polished, refined demeanor her family had tried to instill in her.

But it was honest.

And for Areiana, that mattered more than anything.
