With help from the computer Mike found his way to the sick bay for his boarding physical. He entered the room and took a set because they looked busy today.

Areiana smiled warmly, glancing up from the medical console. “Give me just a moment,” she said politely.

She finished entering the last of the patient’s information into the computer, double-checking the readings before setting the medical tricorder back on its charging station. Satisfied that everything was in order, she removed her gloves and made her way across Sickbay with an easy, confident stride. As she walked, she brushed a loose strand of red hair behind her ear, her long braid swaying lightly against the back of her uniform.

Stopping a comfortable distance from the newcomer, she offered a friendly smile that helped soften the otherwise clinical atmosphere of Sickbay.

“Hello,” she greeted. “You must be one of our new crew members. I don’t believe we’ve met before.”

She extended a hand in greeting.

“My name is Areiana Blackford. I’m the Chief Medical Officer aboard the ship.” Her tone was welcoming yet professional, carrying the quiet confidence of someone who was completely at home in her role. “It’s nice to finally meet you. Welcome aboard.”

Her emerald eyes studied the newcomer for a brief moment—not with suspicion, but with the practiced observation of a physician who instinctively assessed everyone she met. Finding nothing immediately concerning, her smile widened just a touch.

“So,” she continued, lowering her hand after the greeting, “what can I do for you today? Are you here for your initial medical evaluation, or were you just looking for Sickbay?”

Mike was taking her back by the sheer beauty and the woman before him, but then he finally came back to his senses. “ oh yes, hello my name is Mike Isekai I am the new civilian cook for the vessel and I’m also gonna be taking over the bar once I get one started” he said, placing down some of the bags that he was carrying and took her hand and shook it “ according to the computer I am to report here for my boarding physical before I am able to do anything else on the vessel” he said with a pleasant voice this seems to flow like honey

Areiana smiled warmly as she shook his hand, giving it a firm but friendly squeeze before letting go. She picked up the medical PADD from the nearby counter, her fingers moving quickly and confidently across the screen as she pulled up his file. The soft chirps of the device echoed through the otherwise calm sickbay while she reviewed the information.

“Ah, yes,” she said with a nod after a moment, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “I’ve got you right here.”

Her eyes scanned over the appointment details one last time before she looked back up at him.

“It looks like today’s nice and simple. Just a standard physical, a quick biometric scan, and your injection. Assuming everything looks good—which I’m expecting it will—we’ll have you on your way in no time.”

She set the PADD down on the examination cart and gestured toward one of the biobeds with an open hand.

“I’m sure you’d rather spend your free time exploring the ship instead of sitting in sickbay. First days aboard are always interesting. Most people like to get familiar with the layout, find the mess hall, maybe wander a few decks before duty starts. Or,” she added with a knowing grin, “if you’re smarter than most of us, you’ll grab a few hours of rest while you still can. Once your shift rotation starts, you’ll appreciate every chance you get to sleep.”

She gave a light chuckle before patting the edge of the biobed.

“Go ahead and have a seat for me. I’ll get the scanner running first, then we’ll take care of the injection afterward. I’ll do my best to make this as quick and painless as I can. I’ve gotten pretty good at giving shots without people even realizing I’ve already finished.”

As she moved to gather the handheld medical scanner and prepare the hypospray, her movements were efficient and practiced, carrying the quiet confidence of someone who had performed the same routine hundreds of times. Even so, she never let it feel rushed, making sure her patient felt comfortable before she began. “If you have any questions while we’re at it, don’t hesitate to ask. I’d rather answer a dozen questions than have someone leave here worried about something they didn’t understand.”

Mike Did what he was told to do he took a set on the bio bed and his showed he was very healthy but his leg muscles showed a decline in their muscle mass. Then and old star fleet medical file was pulled from the archives 15 years ago he was in Star fleet then left to pursue a different career and his file also indicated an allergy to nuts

Areiana smiled warmly as she picked up the medical scanner and slowly passed it over him from head to toe. The compact device emitted a soft blue glow as it swept across his body, gathering thousands of readings in only a few seconds.

The scanner gave a gentle beep, and a holographic display sprang to life above the device. Streams of medical data, vital signs, and biochemical readings scrolled across the screen. Areiana’s eyes moved over the information with practiced speed, silently reviewing each result before giving an approving nod.

“Well,” she said with a smile, “everything looks really good.”

She tapped a few commands on the display, bringing up a more detailed nutritional analysis.

“The only thing I can see is that you’re a little low on iron. Nothing dangerous,” she reassured him before he could worry. “Probably just means you’ve been skipping a few balanced meals or you’ve been living on replicator coffee and quick snacks.”

She looked up at him with a teasing grin.

“I’d just recommend adding a little more iron to your diet for a while. The replicators can adjust your meal plan if you ask them to, or I can have dietary send you a list of foods that’ll help bring it back up naturally. It’s nothing serious, though. Other than that…” She closed the report with a satisfied tap. “…you look completely healthy.”

Setting the scanner aside, Areiana reached for a hypospray injector resting neatly on the tray beside her. She checked the dosage one last time before stepping closer.

“Alright,” she said. “Just one quick immunization.”

She gently pressed the injector against the outside of mike’s upper arm. The device released with a quiet hiss, and he barely felt anything at all—just the faintest touch of pressure before it was over. If he hadn’t been watching, he might not have realized the injection had already been administered.

“There we go,” she said, pulling the injector away and setting it back on the tray.

As she tucked a loose strand of bright red hair behind one ear, she gave him another reassuring smile.

“I think you’re good to go.”

She folded her arms loosely, slipping back into her professional tone.

“Just keep an eye on yourself for the next hour or so. If you notice any unusual symptoms—rashes, dizziness, trouble breathing, nausea, swelling around the injection site, or if you just start feeling…off—come straight back to Sickbay.”

She held up a hand before he could protest.

“I don’t expect that to happen,” she added quickly. “The serum has been thoroughly tested, and reactions are extremely rare. Most people don’t experience anything beyond maybe a little soreness at the injection site, if that.”

Her smile softened.

“But medicine is all about planning for the exceptions, not just the rule. There are a lot of different species serving together in Starfleet, and even Humans can surprise us sometimes. I’d rather have you come back for something that turns out to be nothing than ignore it and have it become a problem later.”

She gave his shoulder a light, friendly pat.

“So, unless your body decides to become spectacularly dramatic over the next hour—which I sincerely hope it doesn’t—you’ve officially passed your checkup. You’re free to enjoy the rest of your day.”

(sorry about the delay , i thought i posted that i was going to be gone for a anime convention but i guess it didn’t post.)
