Zaril Dovek

Background
Zaril Dovek was born on Delta IV during the summer blooming. He grew up in a traditional Deltan harmonic household, guided by his mother, Larevi, a respected scholar of philosophy, and his emotionally reserved but thoughtful father, Tavoran.

From the beginning, Zaril displayed an unnerving sensitivity to emotion. Even as a toddler, he responded to tone and silence with the kind of awareness that made others question what he could already perceive. He was gifted.

Throughout his early education and adolescence, Zaril studied at the Kala’morith Institute, where he was trained in empathic shielding, harmonic translation, and dialect construction. Though naturally gifted, he struggled with emotional fatigue and internalized failure deeply. His early success wasn’t effortless, but through self-discipline and long nights, he was able to master his gifts.

His time at Starfleet Academy was difficult. He nearly withdrew his first year, overwhelmed by the unregulated emotional chaos of Earth. But over time, he learned to adapt to it and as able to correct. By his second year, he was anchoring linguistic think tanks, and nearing the end of his third was honored by one of his professors for linguistic excellence.

He graduated with honors in Communications Strategy and Xenolinguistics. Assigned as Junior Communications Officer aboard the USS Lexington, he quietly earned respect through discipline, focus, and raw skill. His presence on the bridge turned tense moments into opportunities for understanding. After two years aboard, he was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.

Now, reassigned to the USS Sentinel, a heavy frigate with a sharper mission profile and harder edges, Zaril has yet to report for duty.
