Aaron chuckled. “Well I appreciate the sentiment, though I’m sure we can wrangle up an even better cup of coffee. I need to try and get my hands on some fresh coffee beans again, it’s been a while.”

“Hmm, but things to know that isn’t in the reports… There isn’t much in the sector that I’m aware of that is outside of the reports. For the most part it is pretty tame at this point, but we are still working on discovering the area. We are still rebuilding the sensor net in the region. As for the starbase, well we have a savory bunch of characters here. I think you’ll enjoy getting the chance to meet them in person, instead of me spoiling the for you.”

LtCmdr Foley - XO

“Maybe one of those savory bunch has a connection to some coffee beans,” Kate responded with a laugh. “Anyone in particular that I should touch base with first?” she added on, leaning forward slightly in interest.

Lt Trent, SOO

“That’s not a bad idea. You never know what they might have in their cargo holds,” Aaron said pausing to think of that. He was going to have to talk to a few of the traders that came and went from the Starbase.

“I’d start with some of the shop owners, or perhaps check in with the owner of the Blue Note. They always hear some of the best news as it comes through the Station.”

LtCmdr Foley - XO

Kate mentally filed away the information as well as a to do to see if she could procure some coffee beans for the XO as she met with the various shop owners on the staircase. She smiled thankfully at Foley. “Thank you, that helps a lot. The civilian population is certainly new to me. I plan to check in with the Chief of Security about his read regarding the general clientele and business as well. Do you have any other thoughts or guidance?”

Lt Trent, SOO

“Just keep a good eye on this sector. We only have a limited sensor net in place right now, and it is definitely leaving holes in what we know. The Trinidad is doing what it can to help fill those gaps, but it is just not enough. So any help or guidance you can give in where the Trinidad should go, would be appreciated.

“We are alone out here without a ton of support, and we aren’t exactly close to the bulk of the Federation fleet. So we need to be prepared for what is going to happen, before it is going to happen.” Aaron grinned, “think you are up to that task?”

The smile that came over Kate’s features was so delighted that it was nearly infectious. Her voice confident, she replied, “absolutely and I’m even looking forward to it.” Finishing the rest of her coffee, she set the empty mug down and got to her feet. “Thank you for taking the time to meet with me, Commander.”

Trent, SOO

“Absolutely Lieutenant, my door is always open.”

Standing up Aaron stretched out his hand, “and good luck getting settled in here on Magellan.”
