The smile that came over Kate’s features was so delighted that it was nearly infectious. Her voice confident, she replied, “absolutely and I’m even looking forward to it.” Finishing the rest of her coffee, she set the empty mug down and got to her feet. “Thank you for taking the time to meet with me, Commander.”

“Absolutely Lieutenant, my door is always open.”

Standing up Aaron stretched out his hand, “and good luck getting settled in here on Magellan.”

Kate firmly shook his hand, offering a friendly smile. “Thank you, sir, I’m looking forward to it.” With that, she made her way out of his office, happy to have checked another item off her list as she got to know the various members of her new assignment.
