Nicholas sat in his office and considered what he was doing one final time. It was not what anyone might advise. It was certainly not the wisest course of action. But it was entirely possible that it was the best available course of action. He had been trained to think and behave a certain way, that mold was already broken. If anyone not a friend found out… He wasn’t sure what would happen. But he knew he couldn’t continue circulating if he was no longer viable in his role. Maybe that’s only what he had been led to believe. Either way, he had no intention of finding out the hard way.

Nicholas left and strolled down the winding path to the Governor’s Office. Hyrushi’s assistant was out. Probably for the best. He approached the office door… and he knocked.

The doors swung open silently and Hyrushi stood just past them. A slight bow was the only greeting, and he motioned for the Intelligence Officer to follow him.

Nicholas returned the bow and followed wordlessly.

Kenzo indicated a chair in front of his desk and took a seat. “Commander. I trust you are well?” he said finally, and slid a micro-PaDD across the desk towards him.

Nicholas sat across from Kenzo. “I’m alright. And yourself?”

“A gift… for a friend.” and he inclined his head slightly to the device.

Hyrushi, Governor

Nicholas smiled, ever so slightly. He took the PaDD offered and examined its contents. His smile grew. “Interesting. Very interesting.”
