Hi All,

As you probably all know by now, Robert Archer has left Star-Fleet entirely and so we are now without a GM. Robert has always been a great friend to the USS Merrimack. It was the first ship that he ever GM’ed and he has told me several times how he really appreciated the chance that I gave him to GM here when no one else was keen to have a very new GM. I have really loved the epic scale of some of his Sims which have taken us both forwards and backwards and in time, and also to the Andromeda Galaxy. We have explored new worlds, and met new races and civilisations, working as we have along the very edges of known space, just as Star Trek was conceived to be.

He has had many personal and family ill health problems over this time as well as work and RL problems, but has always managed to keep us going somehow. Whatever ails him now, I don’t know, but I only wish him well. What I do know from experience, is that keeping a ship going without a GM is very difficult, and good GMs are difficult to find. Please help me during this difficult time and stay with me, and I’ll try not to make the experience too boring. I will attempt to get notes for the current Sim from Robert, and if possible, try to complete it, or maybe wrap it up quickly. We can self Sim for a while, as I know you are able. I am just back from holiday, but the process of looking for a new GM has begun already.

In other, good news, I think I may have found us a new XO.

We will miss him here on the Merrimack. I am also on the Ark Angel where he was not only the commanding officer but also the GM. He will be missed and I hope he gets to a better spot in life. Dave, more than likey, he will not provide you the details of his sims. I asked him for the one we were active on the AA as I am the acting CO there and he said he does not give them away. Hope for the best for him moving forward.

I am very sad to lose him as well and wish him all the best with whatever he is dealing with. Dave, I thought of a good wrap up for the shuttle thread. I was thinking of us finding unmanned drones in there and no answers to our many questions of who and why. I figured it would be a good wrap up for that thread. We can rp going aboard to find them and that will give us something to do for a while:)
