It was about 4 days later during which the Merrimack had been at Deep Space K-5 on some well earned R&R and replenishing their crew rotation and other such things. It was 1337 in the afternoon when a ship wide comm call was relayed through the ship from the station commander. =/\= Attention USS Merrimack, all senior staff report to Lieutenant Commander Grafton in briefing room 2 in 20 minutes. =/\= A female said.
Internally, Xavier groaned. Lying on his back on the floor of the sonic shower in his quarters with his legs raised against one wall with the water, infused with their sonic vibrations and all gently falling on him after his gym session, he was far too relaxed to have to get up and ready for the end of the ships downtime.
Get up he did however, and a full minute on his feet with the sonic function turned off and the water on cold got his heart rate up and the energy needed to get moving. Dried off, uniform on and some basic grooming complete, the Merrimack’s new CSO made his way towards Briefing Room 2 with minutes to spare.
Stepping inside, he moved to one side in case anyone walked into the back of him and looked around at the room setup. Assuming he was in the right place of course. The ships Deck Layout made no mention of a Briefing Room 2 so, he had made an educated guess and headed to Conference Room-B on Deck 3 instead as they were on the same deck as his quarters.
Xavier would arrive to find Conference Room B on Deck 3 in darkness and was not set up for any meeting. He’d quickly realise that the announcement came from the Starfleet office on the station rather than from the Merrimack. Not to worry though, it was an easy mistake to make. He wasn’t the first to make it, wouldn’t be the last, and someone should really have explained that to him. Also, 20 minutes was very short notice to leave the Merrimack and to find the Station Briefing Room, so there was no way he would ever be the last to arrive. If he left now and walked there, then he’d probably see some other Department Heads running to make it on time.
Captain Glen was also annoyed at the short notice given about the meeting. This was on top of their shore leave being cut short. He cut short the entertainment utility he’s been running, left his Quarters and headed for the briefing. What could be so important?
Max had barely gotten off shift after some basic overview and potential repairs in engineering when he heard the request. He had to double take based on the voice. He was a little surprised but realized it was from the station rather than someone on the Merrimack. He knew 20 minutes was not very long but he got up from his seat and put his uniform back on and left his quarters. After a few minutes of walking the ship, he arrived at the location to leave the ship and to get to the station. Once he stepped onto the station, he noticed the noises totally changed. He was use to hearing little changes in the Merrimack but the station had all different kinds of noises. He was going to have to try and ignore it and make his way to briefing room 2. He had already looked over the specs of the station and knew where he was going. It took him a number of minutes of walking, to arrive at briefing room 2. He knew he was cutting the time short but he still had 3 minutes before the 20 minute warning was over. He straightened his uniform and then walked into the briefing room. He looked around and noticed members of the Merrimack along with officers he did not recognize. He found an empty seat and sat down. He then looked over to who he assumed was Commander Grafton and said, “Lt Mullins, Chief of Engineer of the USS Merrimack, reporting as requested.” He then waited for the meeting to start and to see if Grafton responded to his arrival. He had a feeling he knew what this was about since he was already concerned with the sun crystals but was also curious of what might else be going on at this point.
Once the senior staff of the Merrimack got over to the DS K-5’s briefing room 2 they found Lieutenant Command Grafton with two aides, one a female human ensign and the other a denobulan male lieutenant junior grade in rank. They were both quickly assembling a flurry of PADDs and data chips on the briefing table. When Mullins would enter Grafton would turn from his own preparation setting up some kind of data screen on rollers near the table. “..Good afternoon Lieutenant, please take a seat, soon as the rest of the staff gets here we will begin..” he stated.
Max then responded, “Good afternoon to you as well.” Max looked nervously around and noticed all the PADDs and data chips on the table. He also noticed the data screen on rollers near the table. This was a large amount of material for what should be a standard briefing. All of this made him more nervous than he already was. He waited for the rest of the senior staff to show up.
Cross was next ,she stood in front of Lt Command Grafton and gave a quick salute and a slight nod to those with him .Before taking a seat she picked one of the Padds and promptly sat down next to Max ‘’Lt Mullins ‘’ again acknowledging him with a nod .
*Here we go again * she thought.
Max went ahead and nodded back to Lt Cross and said, “Lt Cross” and then went back to reading over some information prior to the meeting he needed follow up with for engineering. He was reviewing his report again as well as some information from the last diagnostic of the main ships computer. He was concerned with a few things and needed to write up a report but this was more important. Nothing was wrong but he saw some improvements he would love to have worked on during down time.
OOC: A question is this briefing taking place at the station before the crew board the ship or already on the Merrimck ?.
OOC: I assumed it was on the station based on who asked for the meeting.

It was about 4 days later during which the Merrimack had been at Deep Space K-5
So, plenty of time for new crew to arrive and settle in and everyone to complete whatever they were busy doing.

Hunter followed soon after even though he was not a D’H ,being ACMO and a surgeon the doctor wanted to be present about the upcoming mission. He quietly sat behind the first row of chairs for now scrutinizing those already present .Hunter Dr.
Captain Glen arrived just about the same time as Xavier.

Xavier was a few steps behind the CO in fact, looking around very slightly sheepishly in case anyone knew he had mistaken the announcement on the ship for being on the ship. The curse of being unfamiliar with both ship and station, indeed. Really, the brass should be more specific in any case, and inwardly he felt important Information hadn’t been disclosed. He needed coffee.
