Jova had fire suppression equipment in hand as he attempted to deal with the explosions. In a way, that was controlling the environment, but the klaxons, the explosions and the chaos was continuing.

He was used to working under pressure, he was used to working on engines under pressure, but not like this. But, he wasn’t about to lose his head. His many times great ancestor, Joel Kiwa would have faced similar as a Lighthorseman on the battlefields of WWI and he survived, and Jova was determined to survive this.

Jova opened a panel, ran a scan to see if he could find a source of the systems cascade failure and warp core shut down and kept his eyes on the panel of his diagnostic toolkit. “Come on, Sentinel,” he said softly as he waited for any results, “Don’t let me down, girl. We’ve got a long ride ahead and I need you running true.”

The core is currently flickering with an unnatural greenish-orange corona, and alarms are blaring. The temperature in the core and the room is rising, and the air smells of ozone and overheated circuitry. Engineering stations line the walls, their displays showing cascading system failures. Several crew members are working frantically at the stations, while others are attempting emergency repairs on the plasma conduits. The main console is dark — Chief Engineer is missing.

Jova’s scanner showed that the plasma conduit junction he was looking at was weakened - deliberately. The magnetic containment regulators in the panel also showed signs of tampering.
