Gordon took a glance around to see if anyway was watching then pulled out the tricorder. He did a quick scan, looking for anything obvious.

As Colter approached the rally, he noticed something. He couldn’t place his exact finger on what bothered him, but it was certainly very crowded. Too crowded, in fact. If Greene was to be killed, judging from the density of the crowd, it might prove difficult to get a clean shot and get away.

Now that DaVinci was on the scene, he could truly see how large the crowd really was. He wondered how many of the people were here to support Col. Greene and how many were against him. If his supporters only knew what Greene was planning, he wondered how many would change their minds and be in favor of killing the man.

Speaking quietly into his hidden comm badge, DaVinci contacted the two security people on the ground.

=^=Triton, Gordon. This is Colter. I’m sending a picture of the TWO men we are looking for. If you find them, approach, but do not apprehend, yet. Wait until they make an aggressive move toward Greene. I’m going to try to get next to Greene to protect him up close. Keep your comms open so that I can track you and hopefully determine which direction the threat is coming from.=^=

He then began making his way to Greene’s position.

OOC: GM, do we know exactly how Col. Greene was killed in this timeline? Shot, stabbed, explosion, so we know what kind of weapon to be looking for. . .

Colter (CIO)

Gordon checked his tricorder. =^=Got it sir,=^= He whispered. =^= It looks like we are near by, we will start to walked the crowd.=^= He motioned to Sha to follow as they walked towards the crowd.

OOC: Unfortunately, Williams wasn’t able to find out that detail for you. He was able to confirm that he died in Central Park. Though, given the hint in my last post, I’m sure you can figure it out.

IC: The CIO began making his way toward the stage/platform Greene would be speaking from. He kept his senses in sync with the crowd, but his mind was working overtime, going over all the information they had gathered, what little of it there was.

As he continued, he considered the size of the crowd and the men they were hunting were in this crowd. If they were to produce a weapon, prople would begin screaming. Security would begin converging on that spot. It would be difficult to escape unless. . . . . his memory snapped back to when they first discovered the shuttle. IT was booby trapped to explode!!! An explosion here in the park would cost many lives, not just Greene’s. Plus, with the confusion, it would give their oppobebts an opportunity to escape in the chaos!!

That had to be it, DaVinci began hurrying toward the stage while at the same time contacting Triton and Gordon. =^=Sha, Gordon, your targets!! Look for anything that could be a detonator on them. I’ve got a feeling our guy likes to blow things up and it’s going to be the stage with Col. Greene standing on it. I’m going to try and stop Greene from getting there. Colter, out.=^=

Sha had been following Gordon’s lead, but now she growled under her breath. She tapped her comm as she scanned the area. =^=If this is about explosions near the stage, Gordon should scan the crowd and I’ll work my way around back and try and get under the platform. Depending what they’re using, I may be able to disarm it. It get a lock on it for beam out.=^= She glanced at her companion wondering what how reaction would be.

Another thought drifted into Colter’s head. If it wasn’t a bomb, Central Park was sure wide open for someone to kill Greene from long distance.

OOC: Darn you, Jason!! I was debating on whether I wanted to go with a bombing or a sniper. Decided to go with the bomb!!! Terry

OCC: I’m going to take this one too.

IC: Gordon listened to Sha’s suggestion, but kept his eyes on the whole park. He didn’t respond to Sha as he looked around the park and the surrounding buildings. He turned around, looking at each building as he did so. After looking around he turned back to the stage.

“You know,” he paused, “There could be a sniper instead of a bomb.” He said to Sha. “The question would be where? Why don’t you look for an explosive, I’ll see if i can figure out good sniping positions.” He suggested, still looking at a couple buildings, as if trying to decide if they would be good sniping positions.

DaVinci continued to make his way toward Greene’s most likely approach. However this assassination attempt was going to go down, he had to keep Greene safe. If that meant taking a bullet for this lunatic terrorist, that’s what he would have to do. . .

Colter (CIO)

Only two positions from nearby buildings seem to have clear line of sight with the current technology weapons of the day. It would be increased significantly if there were future weapons, but given that a dampening field was in place which prevented the transporters to operate, there was a good chance a 24th century weapon might not work properly. Colter had to run if he wanted to get out to investigate… the only other option was to call the ship to get people sent to the locations he suspected.

DaVinci continued to move until he heard Gordon’s voice. He stopped and let his gaze drift to the buildings near the park. Realizing there were only two that would have a superior vantage point for a sniper to take a shot at Greene while he was on the stage. Pulling out his tricorder (if anyone asked, it was the next generation of cell phone), he quickly snapped pictures of the two vantage points and sent them to the security officers.

=^=I was planning on heading Greene off before he got to the stage, but I don’t see him anywhere yet. Which of these two buildings are you nearest to?=^=

As the channel closed, the CIO took a quick look around, then ducked under the stage. =^=Colter to transporter room. Beam me directly to the following coordinates.=^=

After the message was sent he drew his phaser and waited to the shimmering light to pull him in. . . .
