The turbolift doors slid open and DaVinci stepped onto the bridge of the USS Brave. He surveyed the crew at their stations and nodded. Everything was as it should be.
The ship pulled away from SB 310 aand the order was given. “Helm, set a course for the Hogura Nebula, maximum sustainable warp.”
“Aye, sir,” replied the NE at the helm. A moment later, he added, “At warp 9, it’ll take us about 10 days to get there.”
“I’m aware of that, Mr. Speed, but I believe that’s our best shot to get to the McAlister C-5 Nebula without notice.”
=^=Attention all hands. We’re headed to the Hogura Nebula. That’s gives us 10 days to get to know everything there is to know about the Brave and what she is capable of. I expect you all to know her intimately. Make sure you’re also aware of how the C-5 Nebula with have an impact on her capabilities. I have no doubt you all will be at the top of your game for this mission. Than you. Colter out.=^=
“Mr. Speed, let’s rock ‘n’ roll.”
Captain Daniel “DaVinci” Colter
CO/CIO USS SaracenThe Lieutenant had seen the captain walk on the bridge and with a smile she stood at her station. She had then nodded at the captain giving him confirmation that Operations is green. She had then started to speak. “Operations is a go. Green through the board sir.” She said with confidence to the captain.

U.S.S. Saracen“Captain on the bridge,” Kolar called moving from the main chair to his own.
Sheleah stood quietly at a station. She had spent the whole morning dealing with new quarters, tiny office, and a very upset ocelot. Being on the bridge was actually quite the relief for the moment.

Flynn stood to attention as the Captain entered the bridge than dedicatedly returned to his job. Fizzing with anticipation for the new mission, now that Allison had brough up his expectations for it, he was completely in the zone as he committed the systems and statuses of the Brave to his memory and double, triple checking that he was as well acquainted with it’s parameters, which although didn’t vary overly much from the Saracen, could still prove disastrous if the ship ended up in a worst-case scenario type situation.
Lt. (j.g.) Flynn
The CO settled into his seat, nodding to each of the crew as they reported their status.
Ten days, DaVinci thought. That’s a lot of time for things to go wrong.
He mentally crossed his fingers and tried to relax.

CO/CIO USS SaracenMoments later another figure entered the bridge of the Brave. Piercing eyes took in the space as it was arranged, noting the faces of the crew, especially the senior staff as though matching them against a mental roster. Hands behind her back, T’Reya made her way to Captain Colter and stood, waiting to be addressed at his convenience.
DaVinci turned and smiled at T’Reya. “Welcome to the bridge, Sub-Commander. I’d like to assume everything is up and running?”
The Romulan nodded. “Almost. Initial checks look promising. Direct control seems to be ready to go, but the remote interface will need a minute to check out.”
“Captain,” she said by way of greeting. “Our little toy is plugged in and preliminary checks seem to be in the positive. Where do you want me to ‘set up shop’?” There were a few auxiliary stations which would suit her needs. Or he might kick her back to engineering, but the bridge fostered better coordination.
GM Rei, GM
“You can pop a squat at the auxiliary engineering station. That is, if you prefer to be on the bridge when we activate the cloak. I’m fine wherever your most comfortable.”
Captain Daniel “DaVinci” Colter
CO/CIO USS SaracenThe faintest flicker of confusion crossed her face, before the corner or her lips pulled back in the faintest hint of a wry smile. “Auxiliary engineering will be fine, that’s exactly what I need. I’ll let you know when the interface is up and running,” T’Reya said. Turning, she peeled off, heading for the aforementioned station.
Angel then still stood at her station tapping at her computer in front of her and still smiling no matter how hard it was not too. She was happy to have the assignment that she has and finally figuring out that there might be something with this mission worth doing.

CO/CIO USS SaracenSheleah remained a quiet presence on the bridge. For now there is really nothing for her to do except observe the way the crew worked together. She was quite pleased at what she saw.

Dropping with liquid grace into the station chair, her fingers danced over the LCARS interface, pulling up the readouts and accessing the remote terminal for the device. Entering some quick code, the systems linked up, displaying first a more Romulanized display scheme, then a second later, shifting to a more standard LCARS interface to match the one already aboard the ship. User-friendly. The whole operation took maybe a minute.
“Captain,” T’Reya called out. “Handshake complete. We’ve got a green light, as you might say.”
((apologies for the delay. I’ve been in a lot of pain the last couple weeks and most days it’s a struggle just existing. I’ve been meaning to catch up, so… her ewe go.))
GM Rei, GM
The Lieutenant stood there in her position and worked at her console. She smiled as she looked at the subcommander acknowledging the captain for her stay on the bridge. However, she hadn’t met a single Romulan before, which has been unusual for her. However, her main responsibilities were to work at her station and make sure engineering had everything functioning. However, with the fact that she works closely with engineering makes her work easy. However, engineering and herself, makes it where both departments are ready.

((Thanks for keeping it warm, Luke. Apologies for falling behind here.))
T’Reya studied the readouts a little more, then turned her attention back to Captain Colter who hadn’t acknowledged the information, or yet to hand out any orders. Uncertainty filtered into her blood. Was this typical of a Starfleet crew? Was he distracted? Was she neglecting something in her duties or forms of address? As far as she coudl tell, none of those things were the case, except perhaps the distraction.
Turning her gaze toward the rest of the bridge crew, she watched them closely to take her cues from them. So far as she knew, Humans were mostly sensible, and the Federation had proven to be fairly staunch allies ever since the Dominion War, even with the tragedies since.
“Sir?”
GM Rei, GM
DaVinci sat in the center seat going through the possible scenarios this mission could bring about. Over and over, planning for every eventuality and possible solutions. . . .
“Thank you, Sub-commander.”
Relaxing slightly, he opened a ship-wide comm. “Attention, all hands. This is the Captain. The device is ready to go and we are about to enter the nebula. When we exit, we will be in Romulan space. You all know what to do. I pray you are all prepared for any situation we may run into. The slightest misstep could be hazardouz in a number of ways. . . .arrest, treason, death. . . . I’d prefer not to experience any of those outcome. Time to run silent, and run deep.”
Closing the comm, he turned to T’Reya. “Engage the cloak, Sub-commander.”
Captain Daniel “DaVinci” Colter
CO/CIO USS SaracenT’Reya nodded, then turned, letting her fingers dance a long the interface. The readout shifted from “Online” to “Active.” The interior lights dimmed more akin to night mode on the ship, and the alert status indicator lights turned on, pulsing a slow steady blue. Outside the Brave shimmered, distorted, and within a couple of seconds, vanished against the diamonds-on-velvet backdrop of stars.
The Romulan Sub-Commander let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. The device, while it said everything was fine, could have caused any number of unforeseen problems. But all seemed well, and everything showed as operating normally. “Cloak active and stable. … And it looks like passive sensors are working just fine too. We can still see in the dark, just not quite as far or quite as well.”
GM Rei, GM
“Acknowledged, T’reya. Keep me abreast of any flucuations that may be of concern.”
Sheleah listened to the captain’s shipwide comm. She appreciated it when captains did things like that. Crew morale was more important than some of them realized, luckily this one did. She also glanced around the bridge to see how everybody was Manning their stations. All seemed well, unless it wasn’t.
- Sheleah, CNS/DO
=^=Engineering, this is the bridge.. T’Reya says everything is steady and stable on this end. How does everything look down by you?=^=
Captain Daniel “DaVinci” Colter
CO/CIO USS SaracenAn NE Engineering officer had then said over coms =/\= Everything here looks good down here captain =/\= NE Logan said over the coms. While Lieutenant Angel was standing at her station on the bridge she sat there listening to everything.

U.S.S. Saracen“You got me,” Ally said in a positive tone. “We can take Death off that checklist.” The crew was all experienced officers but missions like this tended to create tension and anxiety by the nature of the assignment. Ally could not guarantee that anyone wouldn’t get hurt or die but there was no reason to add to the tension and not to see the cup as half full. She trusted the crew. She would go the distance with them but that didn’t mean she had to be worried about it. She had been in wore situations before.

Kolar cast a glance at the CO next to him. Both men had seen years of combat and the effects thereafter. Hopefully this mission would end in not just success but everyone returning safely home.
