A few hours after the arrival of lieutenants Rurru jav Skahlem and Olesya Koycheva, as well as the re-arrival of Ngokav Sega’a and Sara Lovejoy, Kastarak had arranged for a meeting in the conference room. It was early afternoon, 14:30, and the ship was orbiting Earth. The reflexion of the Earth shone through the windows, giving the conference room an unusual bright appearance.

Kastarak looked out the window, admiring the aesthetics of the view. Earth was much bluer and greener than his lost home planet, and had become more of a home to him than he had dared to admit to himself. In a way, Earth represented safety and continuity to him, which were attributes he found anchoring for him.

As he set out the conference room, he looked forward to meeting Lovejoy again (hoping she was doing better than last time they saw) – but especially meeting Sega’a again (the invitation to Sega’a was unusual, but as first officer, he availed himself of the liberty of officially rewelcoming his old friend back to the ship). He also had prepared for the arrival of Koycheva (whom he had met briefly in the shuttle bay hours earlier) and the new promising scientist, Rurru jav Skahlem. Kastarak had thus invited not only the department heads and Sega’a, but also the leading officers in some departments, such as Valharra and Forster in Security, and Rurru jav Skahlem in Science.

Kastarak prepared a few pots of tea – one black tea from Earth, one spicy tea from Betazed, and one eclectic tea from Risa. He also prepared a pot of black coffee and a pot of raktajino, as well as carafes of both still unflavoured water and Andorian tuber root-infused water.

The plan for this meeting was for this senior crew to meet one another, and for a debriefing and sharing of knowledge of the escapades during the mission, which had led to the MIA of former CWO Dawson.

Kastarak looked at the clock in the room, hanging over the door, and saw that the appointed time would soon begin. He waited…

Pawl left his station calmly and quietly. “Ensign Jiles, if I am needed contact me. I have a meeting to attend.”Pawl said quickly as he exited engineering and he moved towards the meeting that First Officer Kastarak had set up. He barely heard the reply from the ensign but he confirmed the order as he continued on. “Its nice to be back in the terrain system. ” He said softly to himself as he passed a few people along the way. As he greeted them as he passed them it was nice to see things getting back to normal he thought to himself. As he closed on the doors to the conference room. Pawl said with a small smile. “Good day to your sir.” Pawl said a bit formally. as he moved towards his seat at the table.

William entered the conference room just on the heels of Batario and gave the Engineering Chief and First officer each a nod. He still held a strange place in the command structure of the ship, he’d heard that some of the junior staff referred to him as one of the old men as one of the longest serving members and as the highest ranking non-command officer. He poured himself an cup of coffee, tea was soothing and socialising was not a soothing excersise.
