Pawl finished what he had to do in engineering as he moved to exit the level as he stood there waiting for the lift to arrive and he kept his mind closed to all he could. As the doors opened to an empty car. Pawl entered the lift and twisted the handle. “Brig level!” Pawl stated softly as the doors closed to the lift just missing having a Romulan rider along for the ride. Pawl sighed hard and focused on what he wanted to do. As the lift changed directions several times to avoid traffic on the lift system as it slowed to a stop and the door opened to the level he needed to be on as he calmly walked down the corridor towards that main brig section and security area. As he stopped outside the common area and picked up something to drink for him and the captain to enjoy before facing the crew in the security section. making sure he had clearance to visit or talk to the captain. As he walked through the big doors as he saw several officers there. “good evening sirs.” Pawl said kindly to them as he walked to the desk to sign in.

Chris looked up from his hidden screens and smiled. “Good evening to you as well Pawl! You look happy considering the circumstances. Have you found anything on that data that Grey gave you?”

Pawl was glad the captain was in good spirits even though he was in the brig. Pawl felt useless with this data. He was not sure what we were looking at or for? “Grey?” looking a bit lost in thought.

William, who had been going over the most recent sensor data looked up at Pawl with a raised eye brow “Commander Grey, Science officer, Second Officer” He said with unusual dryness in his voice. Him making a joke was as uncommon as their situation.

Chris chuckled. “Yes Pawl. Are you ok? The data on that drive is what we stole from the Romulans a few years back. See if there is a way to find other Romulan ships that are cloaked (which there will be) and how to find other cloaked ships.”

“I am ok sir Just feeling weird in this situation.” Noting the captain in the brig and not where he was posted to be on the bridge. “I needed to come and check up on you both.” He said with a half-hearted smile as it faded rather fast. “There are several possibilities for finding a cloaked vessel. While cloaked the ship still expends fuel like any other vessel. Like an old Earth internal combustion vehicle. is one way or another I have been studying the cloaking device we have it gives off an unusual particle while cloaked that our sensors don’t scan for but I might be able to create a device to detect and create a smart homing device to track it maybe even use a torpedo with the added modifications to help with destroying such a vessel it might even work on the Klingon vessels too.” Pawl said as his mind wondered a moment before shaping back to reality. “using a system meant for probes we used to gaseous matter or other gaseous objects might work as a tracking device along with the added features of a photon torpedo to take out the target and not have it target us by error as he had to do some strong smart programming to achieve this.” Pawl offered not even looking at the data but he will look it over anyway too just for added comfort.

Chris was impressed with what Pawl said. “That sounds good Lieutenant. Make it so. Unfortunately we might be able to test it and prefect it while in this area of space. I do foresee more unwelcomed guests in our future. But study that hard drive further please and you have my permission to use whatever you need to make whatever you want. I don’t want the Romulans to get the idea that you’re not one of them so limit your talk to me please. If you hear any of them nearby or sense then or know their watching via a remote camera feed, then by all means you have my permission to be mean to me and to even hit me. We have to make this convincing. Ok?”

Pawl took his words in carefully as he forced them to sink in. “aye sir!”
“Luckily all was quiet here.” Pawl said softly to them. “Are you wanting any food to eat?” Pawl asked in a more neutral tone.
Feeling a possible presence there.

John sets in the brig with the captain he wanted to get into the ship and go into hiding to make a network of defense spots. His mind was racing he was never really good at waiting…………

He thought to himself ‘STOP rushing in will only cause problems’ he forced his mind to clam itself. He started to relax his mind the same way silver taught him to do so and slowed his breathing. Soon he was there relaxed and his stress went down.

“I would love food and a drink Pawl. But I can’t. I need for the Romulans to see me be treated with disgust but still kept alive for interrogation.”. He then noticed John Forester again. “How are you doing Ensign?”

John looked up at the captain “ not enjoying my claustrophobia but managing. Who would know the relaxing exercises silver taught me will come in handy” he said, while opening his eyes, the bags under his eyes showing

Pawl understood the captains explanation but still felt bad. ALSO feeling Ensign Johns discomfort knew it was not an easy thing to deal with easily. But will talk to the ensign later. “Aye sir!” as pawl turned to leave the area before more people arrive.

“Silver?” Chris said and winced at the pain from the cut on his lip reopening after saying that. “Looks like they helped you.”

Looking at Pawl. “Before you go. You have anything on your mind Pawl. The Romulans won’t be down here for a bit so you both have some time before you do whatever it is your planning to do.”

Pawl sighed hard before he spoke. “I.... wish this was all over, so that things can be more routine. It feels weird to have you all in the brig. And I feel for ensign forester situation of claustrophobia.” Pawl said softly. as he added. “Personally captain these Romulans are tretcherious lot.” Pawl said cautiously.

Chris smiled warmly. “I agree with everything you just said.” Chris said softly standing up and reaching his arms through the port for food. “I’d like a hug if it’s not too weird from you Pawl. I can’t tell you things will go back to routine after this but I sure hope so. You never know what is going to happen. Personally,I wouldn’t mind just blowing the Romulans into atoms but we can’t or we’ll be speed by the Klingons and they’ll just do the same to us. Once we are leaving and if we run into them again, then I’ll just blow them into next week. But until then, we have to play the game to survive. I will endure torture so that none of you have to. So come on and bring it in Pawl.”

Pawl smiled back sincerely as he moved closer to him to give him a hug. “Of course captain.” He said quickly to the man. “Thank you, captain.” Pawl said softly to him as he returned the hug kindly. “I think I better go before the Romulans show up and see me in the situation. ” Noting a hint of humor in his voice. Has he moved back to where he was originally standing. “Good day to all of you.” as pawl turned and left the brig area.

“Ok. Pawl. You take it easy and this should be over soon. Good day or night to you.” Chris warmly said as he watched his Chief Engineer leave the Brig.

“I’m not hugging you, sir, no matter how much you ask.” Will said now standing directly behind the Captain’s right with the same dry tone as when he’d spoken earlier “Perhaps one day we’ll get through a mission without one of your elaborate plans or without you getting roughed up.”

Chris barked out a laugh without meaning to. “You got the nail on the head with that one! I’m tired of this myself Grey. I do find myself in the worst positions as of late. That’s for sure. Once we get back, we’ll hopefully have an easy assignment.”. He sat back down and then looked at Grey again. “Are you sure you don’t want a hug?”. He said with a grin.

William gave his Captain a deadpan stare as a reply then looked back at the forcefield “I’d rather not have to strike my Commanding Officer sir” He said drily “But they won’t be assigning us an easy assignment, we haven’t had an easy job since they forced the Conn on you, sir” That wasn’t entirely true, they’d had a few slower missions in between that and Galdor but he didn’t like thinking about that and he knew the Captain most certainly did not.

Chris grinned at his joke about slugging him then stared off into memory. Exhaling heavily Chris nodded. “Aye. You’re right about that. I don’t know how many times we’ve both come so close to death and still walk away. Me more so. If it’s not you, Kane, Mewzi , or Kastarak, I’d be dead a long time ago. As you’re found of saying, I do get myself into plenty of trouble. Some deliberately and most just finds me or us. You know Grey. Once we’re done with mission, I think a vacation is in order and after that some slow and boring mission. How about it?”

William nodded slowly “That sounds good, sir. I wouldn’t mind not having to shoot someone for a change”
