“I often find myself developing my martial arts skills,” Duvosa replied. “I try to stay fit and active. I also do a fair bit of reading, mostly history and keeping up to date on Federation policies and active missions.” The woman paused, looking at Ana curiously. “What things do you like to do when you are not working?”

Ana listened intently to Duvosa’s answers, noting that they were primarily focused on her career goals and not as much on rest and relaxation. She made a mental note to follow up further with the officer and began to contemplate some suggestions when she realized that Duvosa had turned her question back on her. “Um, I read a lot,” she offered, hesitantly. “Research studies, mysteries…” her voice trailed off as she flushed slightly. “I like romance novels too,” she finally added. “Do you have any hobbies that aren’t directly related to your career?”
