It was a morning she didn’t have to be on the bridge, so Talyn was headed for the gym to get in a run. In shorts, tank top and sneakers, she had a small towel thrown over her shoulder and a bottle of water in one hand as she made her way through the corridors.

On a treadmill in the gym, Melaia was doing something she probably needed more than she had realized. After all, exercise was an important part of her self-care, and even though she wasn’t going to be in uniform, she was still going to be working on this ship and it was time to work on getting her body back into some semblance of order after having the twins.

All in all, it wasn’t going too badly either. She had ben going for ten minutes so far at a moderately slow pace and had found a rhythm. Maybe she’d resurrect her old cross-training routines at some point.

The gym wasn’t too busy when Talyn walked in. She walked over to where a group of treadmills were and claimed one by hanging her towel on the hand grips. A woman she didn’t recognize was also running on one. Talyn began stretching her leg muscles to warm them up and avoid injury before beginning the exercise. She nodded to the other woman in acknowledgement, not wanting to disturb her. Some people liked to stay to themselves in the gym, some didn’t.

Dark eyes gazed at Kree and Mel nodded. “Hello, Commander,” she greeted amiably. “How are things today?” She was in a slow job still and managing to keep her pace, tough she had slowed down a tiny bit to find this new comfortable pace.

Talyn looked over at the woman. She’d studied all the personnel files of the people on board, including their families. “You are Melaia Reez? Wife of Jonathan Reez?” (OOC: I don’t think they’ve met yet, have they?)

The woman was a former Captain in Star Fleet, so Kree maintained a respectful demeanor. “Things are fine, Ma’am, although life on a ship this small is very different than what I’m used to.” She stepped up on the treadmill and and programmed her workout into the console. It began to move slowly, from a walk to a jog. Later on it would be a full run and then the whole thing would reverse for a controlled cool down.
