Talyn Kree was raised on Bristol IV, a new acquisition for the Federation. She was five years old when her parents, Salvatore and Maria, shipped out with the advanced settlement team to start taming the planet. Atmospheric processors had been set up eighteen months before the Krees arrived so when they got there they had air to breathe and supplies to start building. One hundred and thirty-six professional builders/engineers and support people, accompanied them, making their progress surprisingly quick and accurate.

Talyn remained on Bristol IV until her seventeenth birthday. Once she hit that milestone, she returned to Earth and attended Starfleet Academy, with counseling as her chosen field. Graduating with honors at twenty-one, she received her first posting.
