Elliot stood in the Ready Room, a cup of coffee in her hand, the other on the back of her chair. She’d called a meeting of all DHs (and any others who feel they should attend). They’d received there first mission orders and speed was of the essence. There were pitchers of water and coffee on the table along with cups and glasses. At each place was a PaDD with the mission outline on it that each officer would be able to take with them when the meeting was over. This was also the first time she would meet some of the crew as the mission had come up shortly after she and Hawthorne had boarded.

Brad was the first to arrive, one eyebrow raising as he took in the mostly empty room before making his way to the captain’s end of the table.

“We’ve got a mission already, Captain?” he asked.

Dr. Holms was the second to enter the ready room acknowledging both the Captain and Chief of Staff as she took a seat.

“Where There Is Life, There Is Hope.”

Daniel entered the Ready Room a few moments after Lieutenant Holms, carrying a mug of freshly replicated tea. His eyes briefly swept around the room, noting those already present before offering each officer a polite nod.

“Captain… Commander Walker… Lieutenant Holms.”

He greeted them warmly before taking the seat immediately to Captain Elliot’s right, placing his padd neatly on the table but leaving it untouched for the moment. Whatever orders Starfleet had sent, they would all hear them together.

Looking towards Brad, a faint smile crossed his face.

“It would appear Starfleet doesn’t believe in giving a new command team much time to unpack.”

There was a hint of humour in his voice, but his expression soon settled back into one of quiet professionalism.

“I suppose that’s as good a way as any to get to know one another.”

With that, Daniel folded his hands on the table and looked towards Captain Elliot, making it clear he was ready for the briefing to begin whenever she was.
