Having put off checking in with psych for as long as was practicle, Stores finally made an appointment. Unfortunantly, at least from his perspective the Head of department was available emidiatly. So off he went, after a stop to wash is face and hands and change overalls to a clean set No sense geting crud all over the Shrinks couch then the ride up from the lower decks to the Cheif Counselors office. Taking a deep breath at the door Stores keys the door chime It’s not that I hate the witch doctors so much, its just a pain in the ass breaking in a new one

“It’s open!” called a bright voice from inside. Renveer looked up as Stores entered, lowering the PaDD he had been inspecting. “Ah, Ensign Reed. Good afternoon! Please, have a seat.” Renveer extended a hand toward the loveseat couch across from the high-backed chair he was sitting in. The counselor stuck the PaDD into the crevice between the arm of his chair and the cushion, then crossed one leg over the other at the thigh and clasped his hands around his raised knee. “How can I help you today?”

Taking the offered seat with a reflexive glance at the legs of his overalls and the shoulders of his compression suit, “Thank you sir’ Stores drawled in his distict boomer accent. “ The fact is I have put checking in with you off past what I should as a new crewman”

Renveer waved a hand dismissively. “I’ve been getting situated onboard myself. Truthfully, it’s more helpful for me that you’ve had some time to settle in. There wouldn’t be much of a point in discussing your assignment to the Dresden if you hadn’t gotten a feel for the culture of the ship.” He shrugged light-heartedly.

“My name is Renveer,” the counselor said as he leaned forward slightly. “Pardon the transparency, but I did read up on your file. You go by ‘Stores,’ is that right? An interesting moniker, if you don’t mind me saying. What earned you that nickname?”
