From the depths of space, concealed within the cloak of darkness, the Romulan Warbird silently prowled, its sleek hull gliding effortlessly through the void. Onboard, tension coiled like a serpent, as the crew monitored the unfolding events with a mix of anticipation and suspicion.

Through the cloaked viewport, the Romulan operatives observed with keen interest the activities of both the Narvahalians and the USS Atlantis, their sensors honed to detect even the slightest movements. The Narvahalians, with their aquatic origins, had long remained a mystery to the Romulan Empire, their presence on the galactic stage an enigma waiting to be unraveled.

But it was the USS Atlantis that drew the most scrutiny—a vessel of undeniable power and prestige, representing the ever-watchful eye of the Federation. The Romulan operatives studied the ship’s movements with a calculated gaze, analyzing its every maneuver for signs of weakness or vulnerability.

As the Narvahalians prepared for their maiden warp flight, the Romulan Warbird remained cloaked, observing from afar, its presence undetected by the unsuspecting inhabitants of the galaxy below. For now, the Romulans bided their time, gathering intelligence and waiting for the opportune moment to make their move in the intricate dance of galactic politics.

OOC: Cross posted this part from the other thread and my response below.

Onboard the USS Atlantis their sensors would detect the initialization of the warp core and engine start up, along with a large increase in communication chatter between the two shuttles and the ground control building.

“Yes,” Kelly gave an excited arm pump before settling back into her seat and straightening her uniform top. “Okay people get ready for a green light. Security and tactical run a sweep to make sure everything is quiet and see if you can find any orbital security measures. The last thing we need to do is pull up next to a weapons platform as we enter orbit. I need a deep long-range scan of the area. I want to make sure there is nothing in space but us. The last thing we need is to be associated with some comet or meteor.” After issuing her orders, Kelly took a large sip of her coffee. Just because the the ship was seconds away from history, did not mean the Federation had to swoop in. There was time to greet them later. Let their culture celebrate the great accomplishment they had just achieved.

“Centurion, the starfleet vessel has increased its sensor sensitivity and are now also sweeping the system with tactical sensors.” Spoke the Subcommander from the tactical station.

“Is our cloak holding?” She asked.

“Yes Centurion, unless they flood the system with tachyon radiation we should remain hidden.” Informed the sub commander.

“Good, and the what if species? What if them?” The centurion paces the bridge. As if l like a caged animal.

“They appear to be starting their test flight.”

The Romulan operatives watched with keen interest as ground control prepared to release the Narvhalian Voyager from its docking clamps.

In the dimly lit command center of the warbird, tension coiled like a serpent as the Romulan crew monitored the proceedings with silent intensity.

“Keep a close watch,” commanded the centurion, their voice a low, authoritative murmur. “We must track their movements.”

As ground control initiated the release of the Narvahalian vessel, the Romulan sensors hummed to life, detecting every subtle shift in the electromagnetic spectrum. On the viewscreen, the image of the sleek Narvhalian Voyager glided into view, its departure met with a chorus of cheers from the ground personnel.

“Confirmed departure,” reported a Romulan officer, their tone cool and composed.

“Maintain surveillance,” ordered the commander, their eyes narrowing with focus. “We must track their trajectory.”

With silent efficiency, the Romulan operatives monitored the Narvhalian Voyager as it ventured away from the planet, its path leading towards the designated warp jump coordinates. As the vessel disappeared into the vastness of space, the Romulan commander’s lips curled into a predatory smile. “Follow their lead,” the commander instructed. “Prepare to pursue.”

“Captain, we have a problem,” exclaimed the tactical officer, their voice urgent as they monitored the sensors. “The energy wave is heading directly towards us. It will impact us before the Starfleet Vessel”

With a grim nod, the captain issued the command, “Raise shields! Brace for impact!”

The powerful wave of energy surged towards the warbird, crashing against its shields with a force that overwhelmed them quicker than the tactical officer could report the loss of thier shields.

Consoles exploded in bursts of sparks, casting a fiery glow across the dimly lit command center. Internal dampeners and life support systems faltered, sending crew members tumbling across the chamber. The hull groaned under the strain, ruptures spreading like cracks in glass as the ship was flung backwards by the relentless force. Explosive decompressions sent crew members and bulkheads into space until the emergency force fields took hold. The explosions started from stem to stern as the wave past through the ship.
