The USS Atlantis, returning from its previous mission, receives orders to investigate the Aetherial Expanse after an unmanned observation platform detects that the Narvhalarians, on the verge of achieving warp flight. Unbeknownst to the Narvhalarians, the Aetherial Expanse holds untold mysteries and potential challenges, and the USS Atlantis is tasked with observing and understanding these developments with the possibility of making first contact. As the starship approaches the crew anticipates a delicate dance between first contact, the Prime Directive and the impending warp test, ready to unravel the secrets hidden within the expanse.
