Cain looked down at Boomer, who was gnawing on a replicated bone, and said, “You sure do have the life. Now remember, we are going to have a lot of guests tonight, you need to be on your best behavior.” Cain looked at all the food that he was preparing to make sure it would all be done when needed and waited for the first guests to arrive.Nightroad, CO
Lovejoy had just gotten off of duty for the night and noticed there was a message on her pad. She then looked at it as it was an invitation to the causing quarters for a Christmas dinner. She had then taken off from engineering to her quarters and got into something less work related. As soon as she got to her quarters and started to change. Once she was finished, she put some make up on and headed to the captains quarters. Finally she got there and rang the chime. Standing there in silence awaiting to enter.

U.S.S. Memorial“Enter,” Cain answered as he saw Boomer move to see who was at the door.”
Rado did not know what this Christmas holiday was, having grown up on Bajor and thus celebrating Bajoran holidays. T’Han was little help, saying that it was a Earth holiday. Knowing that it may be a faux-pas to go somewhere without the proper attire and that Thanksgiving was also an Earth holiday and having seen a picture of a child dressed as a ‘Pill-gram’, he replicated a similar outfit for the dinner. (OCC: For the joke to be complete, see https://www.halloweencostumes.com/mens-first-pilgrim-costume.html)
Now, dressed in a ‘pill-gram’ outfit, he saw someone waiting to enter the Captain’s quarters. Though it confused him why she was not dressed for the event like he was. Once he was at the appropriate distance, he said, “Hello, um, are you attending the Captain’s Chris Mass dinner?”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of Security“Ah, Mr. Rado,” Cain replied, “Nice to see you.”
She looked over and saw the Chief of security. “Yes I am.” She replied back. “Might I ask why the costume. Not saying it’s a bad thing.” She added a little later.

U.S.S. MemorialRado was confused. “Is this not a reasonable outfit for a Chris Mass dinner? This is an Earth holiday outfit, correct?”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of SecurityShe smiled as he says that. “No. So the outfit your wearing is a pilgrim for Thanksgiving. As us people from earth, we would wear normal clothes. Like for me for instance I’m wearing this dress. We wear more on the casual side and flashy. Not saying your outfit isn’t it’s just I’ve never seen anyone wear a pilgrim outfit too a captains Christmas dinner in his quarters.” She said. She was wearing a nice red dress as she showed him.
OOC: Is this for anyone? i’m going to assume so as I was tagged :-D
IC: Chris arrived at the dinner wearing a Christmas hat and jumper he had been more than happy to spend a few replicator credits on. After all, it was a celebration for everyone.
The jumper was woolly, decorated with a cheerful Terran Santa Claus, snowflakes scattered across the fabric, and small integrated lights woven subtly through the design. It was festive—almost conspicuously so—but Chris wore it without embarrassment.
As he entered the Captain’s quarters, he glanced around the room, taking in who was already present. It was still unusual for an Ensign to be invited here, and he was acutely aware of that fact. But tonight was different. This wasn’t about rank or duty.
It was a special time.
Ensign Chris Taylor
Security“Ah Ensign,” Cain said, “It’s great to have you here tonight.”

U.S.S. MemorialQyra showed up at Nightroad’s door at the prescribed hour, dressed in black, leather pants and a crimson top that put a little color in her cheeks. Silver, braided loops hung from her earlobes, with a matching choker around her slender neck. Hair pinned up with small curls appearing here and there around her face, she rang the chime for entrance.

Executive Officer USS Memorial“Number One,” Cain boasted, “I’m Happy to see you.”
“Thank you, Sir. I appreciate the invitation.”
Sara looked and saw the Commander. “Hello commander. Looking nice tonight. How’s your night going so far?” She asked the commander.

“You look very nice too, Lt. As far as how my night is, it’s just beginning.”
It was at that moment that T’Han also approached the Captain’s Door, still dressed in her uniform. She looked at Rado’s pilgram outfit, tilted her head, and asked, “Gainn, I would like to inquire as to why you are dressed in an ancient Earth costume?”
Rado chewed on his bottom lip. He really should have done more research on non-Bajoran holidays. “This is from an old Earth holiday called Thanksgiving, and is considered to not be a…Christmas outfit. I hadn’t known that holiday costumes are not transferable year-round like it is on Bajor.” Rado explained.
T’Han merely blinked and stated bluntly, “Your thought process is deeply illogical.”

She smiled. “Hello captain. Thank you for the invitation sir. I wasn’t sure what to put on. But I put this beautiful dress on. And who is this? Is this Boomer? Who I’ve heard all about?” She asked with a smile as she bent down petting boomer.

U.S.S. MemorialFrank arrived shortly thereafter, after Gainn anyway, and lurked about before others filtered in allowing him passage into the room. He wore a rather drab outfit, unexciting in all the ways you would expect someone who didn’t care much for fashion to dress. His half-moon glasses perched on his nose and under one arm was a tightly sealed container.
“Happy Holidays,” he grumbled politely to… everyone.
Dr. Frank Silva
Chief Medical OfficerQyra made her way into the room and settled on the couch. She was unsure what to expect that evening–the holiday was not one her people celebrated, but she’d been around Humans for several years so it wasn’t totally unknown to her.

John walked in, wearing black slacks and a dark green Christmas sweater embroidered with tiny fighter craft in red and white. His hair was a bit tousled compared to his normally neat look while on-duty and his eyes sparkled as he made his way over to sit by the XO. “Merry Christmas, Commander.”
