The door to the CMO’s office to the right swished open and a Trill woman stepped out. She wore a medical uniform and had two full pips at her collar. She was reading a something on a pad when she noticed somebody sitting in the uncomfortable chairs of the waiting area in her peripheral vision.

She stopped and looked up. One green and one amber eye fell on Marcus and her initially slightly confused look cleared into a smile.

“Hello there.” she said. “I’m sorry officer, it’s all still quite unorganised here. Whom are you waiting for if I may ask?” she said in a pleasantly deep timbre voice for a woman.

“Hello Doctor , I’m Lt Marcus Kane the new Chief Intelligence officer, I’m just here for my intial boarding medical”

He had noticed the different colour eyes straight away, there wasn’t much he didn’t notice , being an Intelligence Officer his whole caraeer he was trained to spot the small details that most didn’t see, it wasn’t a big deal with having Heterochromia eyes , It was the first time he had seen it himself though.

Valeria nodded. “Welcome on the Manhattan. I’ve also just arrived really, hence the chaos in here. Please, take a seat on that biobed.” she said, biting on her lower lip and wrinkling her forehead in mild annoyance with her personell. She pointed to the one to their right while grabbing a padd with his medical history and a med scanner.

“Anything I should know in case I have to patch you up?” she asked, running the scanner over his very handsomely shaped body. “And why does a ship need a CIO?” she asked and then immediately smacked her hand over her lips. Her eyes went wide and she blushed furiously.

“Oh I’m sorry that slipped out… I shouldn’t have said that… I just always wondered…” she stammered. Her facial features were an open book to Marcus, every emotion was clearly written over her features.
