She leaned forward as well. “Well, from here, you recycle your dishes and follow me.” Ka’sora got up and moved towards the door, turning to wait while he dealt with the glass and the spoons.
He watched her from behind for a quiet moment before rising and making his way to the recycler.
Stepping out into the corridor, the Zaharan’s pace was unhurried.
Sebastian followed her out and offered her his arm as they began walking.
She had no intention of rushing anything. In the turbolift, she was quiet and wore a soft smile.
He leaned against the lift wall and watched the movements of Ka’Sora’s lithe body, an expectant grin on his face as the heat of anticipation began to rise. . .
Down two decks to Deck 6, Ka’sora made her way to her quarters and stopped, turning to face him. “You’re entering a Zaharan’s dwelling. Are you sure you want to do this?”

He looked deeply into those intense, playful golden eyes and replied, “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t want to be. You’re not going to scare me off that easily.”
Lt. Cmdr. Sebastian d’Aramis
CIO-USS ManhattanLight flashed through her golden eyes. “Oh, I wasn’t trying to scare you off, I was giving you a chance to back out. There’s nothing wrong with it if you… at any point. Remember, I’m not Human. You’re going to have to set some of your expectations to the side and, what was that phrase my classmate used? Go with the flow?”
He smiled “Sometimes, the best experiences can be a result of rolling with the flow.”
Entering in the code for her door, Ka’Sora unlocked her door (to prevent accidental wandering in and injury- yes, it had happened before). The first meter and a half had a graduated gravity change so the shift from the hallway to her space was not so drastic, but her observations thus far were that it was not a smooth as it could be.
She took careful strides inside and it was immediately clear the effect that her native gravity had on Ka’Sora. She moved more easily and with grace, her felinoid ancestry even more apparent. For those that were not used to the lighter gravity, it could be a bit unsteadying. Every movement easily overdone.
Her small quarters were more or less than standard set-up… at first glance. But the reception area was plain because of the gravity transition. Instead, shelves had been installed on one side, ready to display objects of her choosing, while the replicator was on the other. Stepping through to the bedroom, It was a bit cramped given all they were trying to fit in there. One wall was covered with small plants that looked fairly young. Her desk faced the adjacent wall, and in the other corner instead of a bed, was a large dark green sling hung securely from the ceiling. Draped across it was a soft knitted blanket in a pale blue and white.
She spun to face him and see how he managed her native gravity.

He noticed the change in Ka”sora’s movements immediately.. She moved more fluidly, relaxed, with a confidence of someone that had spent their whole existence in this adjusted gravity.
Stepping cautiously in the room, Sebastian bounced on the balls of his feet a few times to get a feel for the change. His first step, however, was a bit longer than he expected it to be. He reached out and took Ka’sora by the arm to regain his balance, and pull her closer.
Ka’sora let out a tiny squeak as she found herself swept up into a near embrace. Her surprise was momentary before her expression shifted into a smile.
“I can see this is going to be a learning experience. . . .” he added while gazing around the room.
“Undoubtedly,” she said softly. “For both of us.”
The numerous plants caught his attention first. The amount of green was relaxing and the earthy smell was pleasant. Then, the sling. He would have never thought about something like that for himself, but . . . it fit Ka’sora perfectly.
“It suits you.”

Her smile became a grin and she let out a deep breath, relaxing. “It’s as close as I can come to a dwelling back in my home kajia , Daveyla. We’re arboreal dwellers evolutionarily, but of course we’ve adapted greatly to other options as we gained more technology. But this”-she gestured with one hand to her space-“makes me feel more at ease. Also I need the plants for more than just aesthetics. But…” She drew herself a half step closer, tilting her head up at him, her tall ears turning. “That can be a conversation for later.”
Something about actually being here with him in her space shifted things. Or rather, it was like her emotions had been turned up a notch. Yes, there was chemistry. Yes, she was intrigued by and interested in him, and that had all been true back in the officer’s mess. But here and now? Ka’sora realized how much she needed intimacy with someone.
“So… I an show you how this goes next for a Zaharan, but it probably won’t have the same effect for you,” she said, reaching up and running the pad of her index finger along his jaw.” It would then that he’d likely notice that her fingers tips were not smooth. They had a subtle rough texture that dragged a bit against the stubble of his facial hair.
