Eilah stepped off the turbolift and entered sickbay, smiling when he looked at Ben. “Hey Doc. I’m ready for my make over. Make sure it’s good,” he said and grinned playfully.

Cochrane stood by one of the bio beds and was looking at a PaDD. He looked up as Fayth came in and said “Commander. Perfect timing. The Doctor is prepping for the procedure. The rest of the team should be here momentarily.”

The Sickbay doors slid open and Ka’Sora stepped in slowly and looked around. Seeing the group gathered, she approached warily, trying to suss out the situation. After all, it wasn’t everyday she got called to Sickbay unless there was a problem that concerned a recent tests of hers or something, so seeing senior officers (including the captain!) was a little unnerving. “I was asked to come to Sickbay?”

The Captain looked at her and said “Hello, Ensign. We have a… opportunity… that I believe could do with your perspective. I have assigned you to the Away Team that is going to go planet-side and attempt to ascertain if and how this planet and it’s civilization have been influenced by an outside source. We will be disguising ourselves as members of the local populace and seeing what we can find out. Does that sound like something you can assist with? And yes, this is a covert First Contact… ish… mission.”

Her golden eyes lit up and a grin tugged at the corners of her mouth. “Oh, I think I can definitely help with this scenario.” She wiggled her tall tapered ears and ran a hand over her green hair. “What do these people look like? Will I be able to blend in?” What do we know about them so far? What is their current level of development What indications of external involvement do we have?” she asked in rapid-fire succession. How fortuitous that her own people had had external ‘help’ with their development!

Cochrane chuckled and said “We are all getting some temporary cosmetic adjustments made to blend in. That’s why we are meeting here. As to your questions, those will be covered in the mission briefing before we leave.”

“Sorry to keep you waiting,” Ben said with a grin as he looked at his three… ‘patients’? He wondered if there was a better term than that… certainly guinea pig was probably not something to call the Captain. ‘Don’t bust me’, he thought to himself, well aware that Eilah would be hearing his inner monologue.

“We’ll start off with a small amount of prosthetics to adjust your facial structures, followed by some subdermal pigmentation to adjust skin tones, and then contact lenses for the eyes.” he said, handing each of the guinea pigs a PaDD which showed a representation of what each of them would look like after the procedure.

“And then the rest will be down to the costume department.” he said with a grin.

Guinea pigs? Eilah was grinning, but the others would think he was mildly amused by the mission. But Ben could hear him. I won’t… But you owe me. Then, aloud, he said, “As long as I look good. Oh, and if it’s possible, can my contacts be light? After all black, having light eyes would be interesting.”
