Shortly after the Ark Angel came out of warp speed, Starbase 243 finally saw the Ark Angel on their long-range sensors. One of the main Operations officers glanced over the telemetry before turning to the duty controller.

“Sir, the Ark Angel has entered the system. Identity confirmed. Warp signatures match the flight plan.”

The duty controller nodded and stepped over to the communications console. “Open a channel.” A moment later, the transmission was sent.

=/\=Starbase 243 operations to USS Ark Angel. This is Starbase 243 Operations. We have you on our sensors and are tracking your approach. Your transponder has been verified, and your arrival logged. Continue on your present course. Docking Control will provide final approach vectors as you enter station traffic control range. Welcome to Starbase 243. We look forward to your arrival.=/\= The duty controller said to the Ark Angel.

=/\= Starbase 243 operations, this is USS Ark Angel. Captain Alex Becket in command. We look forward to it. =/\= He replied.

Around the operations center, controllers continued monitoring the Ark Angel’s telemetry as the starship closed the distance to the station, ensuring a safe and orderly arrival.

Lieutenant Commander Dr. Charlotte Kelley stood at the center seat beside Captain Becket, watching the starbase grow larger on the viewscreen. The familiar structure of Starfleet engineering and design filled the display, a reminder of the countless crews and missions that had passed through its docking bays.

As the communication channel closed, Kelley glanced down at the operations display, reviewing the approach data.

“Starbase 243 has us logged and cleared for approach,” she reported. “Docking Control has assigned us a standard arrival vector. No traffic conflicts reported.”

She paused briefly, looking over the bridge crew as they continued preparing for arrival.

“Helm has a clean approach. Engineering reports all systems operating within normal parameters. We’re ready for docking operations.”

Kelley then turned slightly toward Captain Becket.

“After everything this crew has been through, it’s good to see a friendly station on the other side of the viewscreen.”

A faint smile crossed her face.

“Starbase 243, a safe harbor, familiar faces, and probably a few dozen reports waiting for us.”

She looked back toward the viewscreen as the ArkAngel continued its approach.

“Welcome home, Captain.”
