Born on Earth in Rome on 21 January 2363, Ana has always wanted to be a part of something bigger than herself. Rather than joining Starfleet, she studied Economics and joined the political realm as an economic advisor, believing government to be the thing bigger than herself. Early on, she fell under scrutiny from those above her on Earth after her college thesis on the Maquis Conflict promoting disengaging from the military conflict surfaced.
