“Thank you, Counselor.” She inclined her head as a way to add to the graditute within her voice. She was a polite being, which was the only part of her personality that eradicated the idea of her being a complete sociopath. Which, she was, but was incredibly high functioning and not sadistic. “Quite new, yes.” She responded, “I don’t believe I have enough information to respond to such a question, properly. However, the Endeavour seems to be a good ship. The atmosphere is simple enough. As for the assignment, it will be interesting to act less as a normal science officer but more as a partial teacher and partial officer on the training vessel.”

“First impressions can be very important.” She leaned forward a bit and smiled conspiratorially. “I don’t know about you but I have a good feeling about this place.” Liadra leaned back and sipped her drink again. It was kind of nice that so many of the senior staff were boarding around the same time. It meant they were all learning this ship together.

“‘A good feeling?’” She looked about the lounge, as if determining whether or not she agreed with the Counselor’s remark. “Yes, you might be right.” She nodded, allowing her antennae to relax back into a general position. “I can only assume you are new, as well, Counselor. What is your impression of this ship; if I am not out-of-line to ask.”

“Oh, yes! Absolutely.” Liadra looked around and then back at zh’Vheris with a wide grin. “The cadets bring an eager energy to the place. by the time you serve a few years and a few different assignments, it’s easy to become jaded by the work. But, here, you see things through both the eyes of the inexperience, drawing on your own memories of your own training, and then can weight those experiences with memories of what you’ve already done. I think it’s marvellous! I haven’t been here long, but that is what I’ve found so far.”

“It is almost a way to elicit memories of when one was a cadet themselves, eh?” The faintest of smiles appeared on Vheris’ face. She had been quite the peculiar cadet, never really acting in any way that she likely should have. However, she still did her job, and did it well, that was what kept the command from kicking her off of her ships. One could say, that work ethic paid off. “They do bring a certain youth to the ship, despite most officers being between the relative ages of twenty four and fifty, depending on species.. how long have you been here, Counselor?”

“Oh, not long at all, just a few weeks. Just long enough for a lot of the new senior staff to make their way on board.” Liadra rested an arm on the table before her and smiled. “What sort of science do you like? ” She had a Doctorate in Psychology, herself and while many people seemed to dismiss the ship’s counsellor as a non essential position, she viewed herself as a scientist in problem solving mode.
