After her shift, Marlene found herself in the lounge, as she did most nights, on any ship or station she had been assigned to. The lounge staff and her had become quite good friends during all of her postings. Though she had only been here a short while, this was no exception.

She had barely been seated at the bar, when a large glass of bourbon was in front of her, neat. Her poison of choice. The green skinned woman casually looked around the room and some of the cadets enjoying some down time. What better way to set an example to these fine young people than to show them the benefits of a good stiff drink. Never something she would prescribe officially, but always therapeutic in its own right.

The doors to the lounge opened and Liadra stepped in a few steps before stopping to survey the place. Her grey eyes surveyed the place and eventually found Marlene. Though they had yet to properly meet thus far, her face opened up into a wide grin and the Denobulan made her way over to the bar, opting for a stool to the CMO’s right. Off duty, her the fabric of her thin floor length black skirt fluttered as she walked, and the pink top she wore complemented her current hair colour.

“Well, good evening! I was hoping to run into you soon. I’m Liadra!” she said cheerily as she turned on her stool to face Marlene.

“Hello,” Marlene said dryly, taking a quick glance at the woman before taking another sip of her drink.

“You’re the counselor, aren’t you?” Marlene asked, although she knew the answer already. She hadn’t yet made her way to do the official check-in with the counselor as was standard procedure. Having arrived to find a dead body awaiting her made circumstances of her arrival on board a little unorthodox.

“That I am!” Liadra said cheerily, unfazed by Marlene’s manner, nor the fact that the other woman didn’t introduce herself as well. “So, how are you?” She took an individual approach to getting to know people, though at the same time, she had her own generally effusive manner that usually provoked a set of possible reactions. Those reactions would tell her a lot about that particular person.
