Myasnikov was left to deal with the comm and sensor array on his own. “Sure.” he thought to himself wryly. “I am absolutely an engineer. I can absolutely fix complex subspace communications and sensor equipment with my two months of systems training.” He kept grumbling as he shut off the power and pulled the access panel off the sensor array console and began looking around at the various components.

As it turned out, he actually could fix the array. His training on more complex and systems allowed him trouble-shoot the problem with the older system and, with a somewhat complicated but not out of his league re-calibration and reboot of the processor, the system came to life and he was able to scan off-planet to the standard range of the system. He could even see the Unity in orbit around the planet. “Now… comms.”

This he had a bit more confidence going into, as part of his duties at the helm was to handle communications. He ran a systems diagnostics and found power loss levels in multiple transmitters. Going to the hardware itself, he found several frayed wires and a lot of dirt within the housings. “Janitor it is.” he said and began cleaning and repairing. After about an hour, he went back and ran another diagnostic. Full power, all systems were green. He decided to test it out.
