Physical Description:

Aatami Myasnikov is of average human height with an athletic build due to a rigid exercise program he has followed since adolescence. He has no distinguishing marks or scars.

Psychological Profile:

Subject possesses an above average intellect that he is careful not to allow to develop into arrogance. He is friendly and outgoing and has the capacity for genuine affection. He is very task-oriented but can multi-task with little effort. He has a singular gift for languages and ‘reading people’; a talent that has been shown to transcend species and language barriers.

He possesses a great deal of confidence, and that is coupled with a strong sense of teamwork. He can be brash, but the tendency is minor.

Biography:

Aatami Myasnikov was born in 2225 in Vladivostok, Russia. The youngest of two boys, he was raised by both of his parents, each of whom held faculty positions at the local university. His father was a research psychologist and his mother a professor of neuroscience. Aatami showed a knack for language at a very early age. He began speaking clearly before the mid-point of his second year; and was completely verbal at a elementary student’s level

Aatami did not get along with his older sibling. Where Aatami was more cerebral, his older brother Mikhale was more athletic and physical. Aatami showed little interest in physical pursuits until he was sixteen years old. It was that year that his older brother, who had received an officer’s commission in Star Fleet and held the rank of Commander, was killed when the Earth Embassy on Andor was bombed. His brother’s death had an unpredictable effect on Aatami. Rereading the communications his brother had sent home, he discovered that the ‘big brute who always picked on him’ was, in fact, an incredibly intelligent and caring individual. Without him knowing, his brother always asked about him and wanted him to succeed. That was why he was always so hard on him. “Books alone will not keep us in safe in an ever-expanding universe.” he wrote. “I want him to be able to join me some day. The galaxy would do well to see what humanity has to offer in the Brothers Myasnikov!”

The dawning knowledge of what his brother had been doing all those years created a swift and unprecedented change in young Aatami. He began to adopt a lot of his brother’s interests as his own, including piloting flying craft and the practice of Systema, a Russian military fighting style. His parents were concerned that he was compensating for the loss of his brother in an unhealthy fashion. But as his academic record and socialization did not suffer, they could not agree on a way to address the perceived problem.

When Aatami graduated with honors a year early, he expressed his desire to join Star Fleet to his parents. They forbid him from doing so, and insisted he begin his studies at the university in Moscow. He agreed, but he also took on the course work to learn how to be a pilot. Graduating with dual degrees in Linguistics and Sociology, he also finished his surreptitious studies and became a full-fledged pilot and navigator of orbital and sub-orbital craft. He applied to Star Fleet without telling his family; but knew the selection process was not guaranteed. He traveled from Russia to England after being accepted for Graduate studies at Oxford. He excelled in his academic endeavors and earned extra experience on the side as a “private pilot” in his somewhat sparse off time. He garnered a reputation as both an excellent student of societal behaviors and linguistic causality; and as a very skilled pilot. Both reputations played no small part in helping him receive a selection review from the Star Fleet Admiralty, which he was offered the day after submitting his Doctoral dissertation.

Traveling from England to Star Fleet Academy, he sent word to his parents. His call was not answered. He received an automated message from his parent’s faculty communications saying that they would not be speaking to him for the foreseeable future. They offered no explanation, but Aatami knew. They did not approve. He knew it was hard for them to risk losing both of their children, but he was simply drawn to the path and there would be no dissuading him.

He was offered a spot in Star Fleet Academy. His previous academics and experience allowed him to skip the first two years. He enrolled in the Operations School, but emphasized his training in helm and ship’s weapons systems. His ability as a pilot proved invaluable, and he graduated from the Academy after two years, receiving the highest honors in his class and graduating third.
