“I well know and good this isn’t what you were told was going to happen,” Scott grumbles at a table to a blonde sitting across from him. “It isn’t my fault. Well maybe it is but that isn’t the point. They are willing to slag the drives to get you out if you don’t behave.”“They wouldn’t do that and you know it,” Pol retorts in her less that enthused voice. She folds her arms and looks quite the petulant child as she listens to Scott. They had been at this discussion for the better part of two hours, ever since he was dismissed by the captain, the young engineer had been trying to convince his assistant that this new posting was more than a good idea. “I just don’t see why it is the lounge only. Yuri likes me. The commander likes me. who will you speak to at night?”
“We don’t talk at night and I can still come here and play chess with you,” Scott tries to reassure the young woman, or computer program rather, that is not amused with the change of events. He pauses though and looks her in the eyes, “And don’t you dare do it.”
“Do what?” the AI asks with an innocent flutter of her eyelashes, “Pivot my way into another system, piggy back a transmission back to Earth and take the gravity subroutines with me? Please! That was one time and it was deserved. Besides they restored from back up in what? Two hours? I am quite sure the crew didn’t mind floating around for a bit of fun. Plus the mag lock boots were available.”
Scott doesn’t look amused and then folds his own arms. “This is your last chance. Go talk to the bartender, ask her permission to interact with the customers, and don’t cause a fuss. I mean it.” He pauses a moment and looks genuinely sad, “I know about the other routine too. And you aren’t allowed to use it.”
“Which one?” she asks.
“Black-Alpha-4,” Scott says quietly fingers drumming on the top of the table.
Pol folds her arms and shakes her head, “That one can’t be suspended. You know that as well as I do, but I promise I will only use it if I have to.” She stands then and puts her hands on her hips, “I suppose you want me to walk over there too?” She sighs and then strides off, shifting her body as she walks to be slightly taller and more professional looking.
Upon reaching the bar she clears her throat and awaits one of the civilian staff to notice her.
Scott Woods, Engineering
There was only one woman behind the bar, she had fiery red hair, and sparkling green eyes as she smiled at an officer and hands over the high rise Jamaican sunrise with Mexican tequila used as the base not synthaholic that was normally used. Elizabeth heard the throat clear even as she moved to another bar stool, “Be with you in just a moment unless you can walk and talk at the same time.” Elizabeth said reaching for a tray of drinks and made her way to one of the tables in the lounge.
After the incident in the bar earlier with the Orion, the decorations final touches had gone up and she had managed to open the bar/lounge. The lighting was enough to see by but not bright enough to make people wish they weren’t there. Three doors down Kryptonite was playing at the moment while she delivered the drinks to a table. Some of her girls were dancing above their heads tastefully nothing vulgar and out of reach of anyone who may try to touch what didn’t belong to them. And though they didn’t wear mermaid tails they were mermaids in essence.

“Walk and talk,” the AI responded more to herself than to Elizabeth. Pol casts her eyes upwards and watches the acrobatics for a moment then turns back to the ginger. “I can walk and talk.” She looks over her shoulder at Scott who just lifts his eyebrows in a disapproving glare, knowing good and well what the AI was processing about the comment.
With a heavy sigh she falls in with the bartender and says, in a slightly whining tone, “I have been asked to help you in your duties. Or otherwise loiter in the lounge.” Her eyes roll, “Because you threaten to jettison someone’s briefs into space one time and suddenly you are a security concern.”
Pol and Scott Woods.
Elizabeth couldn’t help but laugh as she finished serving the drinks she turned to the AI still laughing. “Did you really threaten to jettison someone’s briefs?” She asked the woman unable to keep the laughter from her voice as she spoke and started back to the bar, “Can you tend bar?” she asked her as she did. “Stupid question can you be programmed to tend bar?” She asked instead with a soft smile.

“Tend…” the girl starts but then wrinkles up her nose, “I have can tend bar yes. That is within the realm of possibility.” She looks defeated and mutters under her breath something about going from refining warp core outputs to slinging drinks in a lounge. “Yes I did, and I would have if the captain didn’t scream at Scott about it. He isn’t very nice. I prefer Omni. She is quite lovely. She doesn’t scream over silly issues.”
Polaris and Scott Woods, Eng.
Elizabeth narrowed her eyes offended for two reasons the AI seemed to feel it was Beneath her to ‘sling drinks’ as she puts it and she was insulting the Captain. “For one I take pride in my bar and it isn’t slinging drinks it is offering the customers a place to refresh and let go of the stresses of the world, and secondly, the captain is a good friend of mine, he doesn’t scream over silly issues so if you have a problem with either taking orders or taking orders there’s the door you can see yourself out,” Elizabeth told the AI quite honestly. Then she turned to take care of another table with customers that have yet to have their order’s taken.
