USS Dauntless

A quick bite

Heather slipped away from work during her lunch having managed to find someone to take over the diagnostics she was running for a moment. She had gone three days just picking at the food she eats so she wasn’t exactly reproducing enough of her own blood. Once in her quarters she went to the bed and punched in a code for the cold storage under it. A shelf slides open and Heather reached in to grab a bag of AB negative.

Sitting on the bed she slapped it to the fangs that slide out like cat claws and the blood drained in seconds. Reaching for a second she drained that one as well before putting both in the recycler. Modern technology was wonderful since it destroyed the evidence far easier than it had before. It wasn’t as good as feeding off the source, but that wasn’t exactly allowed for her kind, it would put them all at risk of being found out. Besides, Heather preferred it this way because then she wasn’t hurting anything with a face she didn’t have to look them in the eyes to compel them into submission or compel them to forget she existed.

This way, she could exist among them for a time especially since her files say she’s half El’Aurian with their longer lives it’s easier to explain away her long lifespan. Her people were careful, never to trust, her uncles ran one of the most sought-after medical research facilities she knew of that research came up for a way to help hide them better, for instance, her bed, was a custom designed not only made to cool her blood but synthesize more human blood as she needs it. After all, she couldn’t just request more blood from Argent Inc and have it delivered without going through the biofilters and scanners. Though it was possible, it would cause more questions if she had it delivered on a regular basis. This way it was safer. No one knew what her bed held but herself and her family.

Hitting a few buttons on the bed the cold storage shelf slide back into the bed and sealed in a way that was like it never existed. With that, she went to her bathroom and checked the mirror to be sure that she didn’t get any on her and was glad to see she was as clean as ever when it came to feeding from a bag. She moved to leave her quarters so she could head back to work.
