As most bad things start, they start small. A small ping, in an engine that goes away for a little bit. That one little bump on your neck that gets ignored. That one spot of mildew on the drywall.

And so it began here. Small and innocent, undiscovered for now, but still the beginning of a bigger problem. It started with a simple spike in the environmental controls read out in operations.

NE Glastonberry narrowed her dark brown eyes at the monitor before looking over her shoulder around the room. “Lieutenant?” she meekly asked, seeking help from one of the more senior engineers. It was momentary but it was still there, something caused the temperature in one of the cargo bays to drop, ten degrees, for two minutes before it warmed back up.

Mike made his way to her “yes crewman Glastonburry” he asked looking at her screen. His presence in engineering was that of a big brother.

She looked over her shoulder at Knight and gave a relived smile. “It looks like there was a small temperature anomaly in the deck 43 cargo bay. Nothing major, but the system reported a drop in temperature of ten degrees for 127 seconds. Could it be a sensor failing?”

Mike looked over the readings “have the computer run a level 3 diagnostic and have a security officer take you to cargo bay on level 43 and run a link diagnostic there” he said as he pressed a few commands. He looked around and saw an officer looking at the core.he saw ensign Jacks looking at the core in some daze he then took out a phaser and fired the last thing he saw was the explosion. A few minutes later he was getting crew out and getting medical crew in the blasts doors closed and him and a few officers to safe in his office.

OOC: I am rendering your post Null and Void for the following reasons:

1) Nowhere in any of the posts leading up to this did I mention anything about the core. It was a sensor in a cargo several decks below.
2) Blowing up the core would result in the destruction of the Magellan, leading to either a decommission or recommission both of which have to be done by presidential edict, coordinated by the FComm.
3) This post is a text-book display of “God Modeing”

The diagnostic came back that there was a slight power blip that caused an erroneous report but other than that it seemed fine. Further digging showed that there was a cargo shipment from a cargo freighter named the Grasshopper that moved in there three days ago but there was no other activity except what was normal for the station.

Mike had a bad feeling so he check the computer to look up reports from the cargo vessel Grasshopper and checked to see it is still docked at the station. =^= CE to security can you check some cargo in on level 43 cargo bay =^=

Meanwhile, Ben could be seen through the closed transparent doors that seperated his office from the main operations area. He was clearly talking on the comm system but his words couldn’t be heard.

Mike went to another consul and ran a diagnostic on the COM’s. To see if there was a problem with the COM’s. Hand through the diagnostic then tried a station wide com broadcast. =^= this is Lt. Mike Knight chief engineer of the station we are experiencing some technical difficulties and our com systems might be affected at this time if there are any other malfunctions please send someone to engineering to let us know that is all =^=
