Mike walked out of his office in khaki BDU and A black T-shirt and a white lab coat. “ I have a decoding matrix at terminal three for you“ He said to Ben as he entered.

TJ nodded. “Let’s see what we have.” TJ was happy that he had the captain here. It made it less awkward. “Thought it would be easier. Building a starship is easier that this.”

“It may not be as difficult as you think - There is the possibility that everything is as it seems,” Ben offered.

In a few minutes the powerful decryption program has broken through several layers of encryption. The program beeped to let let TJ know what it found. There was a list with transportation dates and item numbers that came up as missing.

Mike walked over “what did you find”

TJ couldn’t answer that. It wasn’t his place to speak on a message that was not for him.

The readout on the display was beyond Ben’s comprehension. To an engineer or security specialist, the readout would indicate multiple levels of encryption. Trace markers would suggest that the recording had been transmitted using VPN tunnels meaning it was near impossible to confirm the original transmission point. A more experienced eye may see that there didn’t appear to be any signs that the message had been altered or tampered with during transmission.

TJ’s encryption skills were not as good as he wanted them to be. “Doesn’t look likes it been tampered with. Can’t say much more of this.”

Mike walked over and looked at the screen “ OK forward this to security and to send a copy to the Captain. Now back to engineering work there is a replicator malfunctioning in the galley do you think you can take care of that real quick and we are also in the process of upgrading and updating the solar array“ he said as he started to head to his office.
